After thinking I was pregnant, then finding out I wasn't took its toll on me and the boys. I spent the next days curled into bed. I was disappointed. I had started to really enjoy the idea. But it wasn't my time. The boys tried to make it up to me. But to no avail. However it's put a thought into my head about my future and career. How about teaching at Hogwarts. I'll have to send an owl to Professor Weasley if there's any openings coming up or maybe I could teach in Fig's old post that laid vacant in the years since his death. Which now gave me a new perspective and excitement for life, with also now planning extensively for our wedding and also helping Poppy with hers coming up very quickly.

Sebastian was going for his interview at the ministry this late morning. He was all dressed up and looks so cute. He kept saying how nervous he was for this. Ominis kept reassuring him just like I would do. Ominis finally got a response from the ministry about his application within the ministry its self. While the letter wasn't nice they didn't deny it either. So he too has to go for an interview with the department he's applying for. However his isn't for a few weeks.

"I have a question I want to ask you both" I say.

"Oh" Ominis says.

"Yes and I've been thinking long and hard about what I would want to do for a career" I say.

"Darling you don't have to work Ominis and I will work and make money for us all." Sebastian said.

"Yes and while I admire that, I wish to work as well, not because we'll need money, well because being the docile housewife isn't really my forte. I like being out there; you -Sebastian- of all people know that" I say.

"Yes, but we're not children anymore either." He said.

"But I'm not suggesting anything with the ministry, so no need for the defensive tone" I say firmly.

"Love what is it you want" Ominis stepped up.

"What if I was to teach at Hogwarts. It's completely safe, and I don't have to be far away either. I can still be home every night and all summer and on holidays." I say. "This way I don't have to be home all day everyday while you're both out there at work."

"I love the idea my love, if that's what you want there's no harm in that" Ominis said.

"Thank you" I say to Ominis. "Sebastian?"

"Fine, I agree the housewife role really isn't you, but when we start deciding about family we may have to rethink us all working down the road" he said.

"Sebastian that could be years" I say.

"Maybe, maybe not. If it's what you want to do for now then that's fine with me" he says.

"Thank you. I think I'll go owl Professor Weasley about my interest and see what she says."

"Sounds wonderful love" Ominis said smiling.

"Good luck today Sebby. I hope you get the job." I said kissing him and went off to write my letter to Professor Weasley.

Dear Professor Weasley,
After lots of consideration I'm writing to you about my interest in teaching at Hogwarts. If there are any open positions available or if I could possibly revive Professor Figs class. Please let me know if there are any criteria I have to meet before hand, or if there are any questions you have for me. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Aria Black

P.S. you are indeed invited to the small ceremony Ominis, Sebastian and I are going to have in the winter.

I reread it three times before I sent it off with our owl. I went downstairs and I sat with Ominis on the sofa while we waited for Sebastian's return.

Arriving at the Ministry of Magic was an overwhelming experience, to say the least. I haven't been here since I was a young child and I was with Anne. It was when uncle Solomon came to pick us up and take over as our guardian. Now I'm here to apply for the same position he had. Funny I never once considered being an Auror as a child. Uncle Solomon's reaction towards it and his behavior towards me soured it for me. I didn't want to be like him, never want to be like him still. Calm down Sebastian this for your family now. Not him. You don't care what he would think about all this.

I arrived at the Auror office and the head Auror, a very distinguished man by the name Linfred Potter. All I knew about him was that he came from a long line of pureblood family and he has a young son at home with his wife, because the Daily Prophet had dedicated a whole section of an article to him. He was an intimidating man for sure. I was called into his office. He had salt and pepper hair and round glasses perched on the bridge of his nose.

"Welcome Mr. Sallow, I see from your application you have an interest in becoming an Auror." He says to me.

"Yes, I do" I say politely.

"Well you certainly have the grades and of course you're Uncle Solomon, who was an accomplished Auror. It's tragic what happened in to him" he says.

"Yes, very" I say swallowing.

"Well as you are aware I'm sure you'll have to go through training for a six months and pass that training then be an apprentice Auror for about a year and then you can be a full member of the Auror team." He says.

"I didn't realize the apprenticeship was so long" I asked.

"Yes that was the old policy. It changed a couple years ago it gives the young men a chance to hone the skills they learned in training, on the field." He says.

"Okay" I say.

"Does that sound like something you want to do" Linfred asked.

"Yes" I say.

"Great! We are going to be going through your file again soon. Once the information gets processed then we can get you back here for a fitting and for orientation. We'll be in touch Mr Sallow." He says.

"Brilliant, I'll be waiting. Thank you" I say.

I stood up from the chair and left the office. I went right to the fireplace and headed home. When I got home my girl and Ominis were waiting for me. However an owl flew in with a letter. It was an official one with the ministry seal and everything.

Dear Mr. Sallow,
Upon reviewing your application for the Auror office we came across some concerns. With an anonymous letter we have to cease your application until further investigation can be completed. We have reasons to believe you are a witness/cause of the death of Solomon Sallow.
You will be apprehended at dawn and face a trial. Do not run we know how to find you.
Minister for Magic,
Faris Spavin

"What?" I heard like an echo I finally looked up and saw Aria looking at me concerned. I hand her the letter.

"That's not good" she said over my shoulder. I shook my head and everything went black.
