Seeing Akira's people stand there like mannequins scared me, Deecon placing the child in his arms down to stand next to their mother.

Deecon waves his hand in front of their face and they stick into the trance.

"What did you do to them!?" I shout again at Aries, shoving his chest back.

Aries thumb swipes the side of his nose, irritated at my shove.

"I think I just stopped you from consuming this location of the people you wish to save. A thank you is in order.. Leader." He scoffs, folding his arms at me.

"What were those words you spoke? How did you stop me?"

He points to the pile of bodies, "I can explain later, right now we need to fix this place before those human minds crack at the horror."

He was right, I couldn't have these people see me as such a dark form.

I nod my head, "Deecon, time to practice."

He scurries over and mimics my position of crouching to the ground near the bodies. He places his hand into the dirt and awaits the lesson.

I press my fingers into the dirt and begin to break the ground as the bodies fall into the hole. Just like when I buried Franco in his basement.

"You need to envision it in your mind, I know it will feel like needles at first but you need to press on. Invision your palm going through the ground like a plush pillow, not shattering but melting down."

Deecon winces as a spark comes from his palm, over and over he tries until finally the ground starts to shake near him, a body from the pile falling a foot down.

He chuckles under his breath, "Fuck, does that needle pain go away?"

I shake my head a little, "Still hurts me here and there, practice will help you.. Try to bury each body while I fix the buildings."

I knew he wouldn't argue with me if he was ready or not, he always needed to prove he could do any task. He nods his head and strains his hand to glow again.

I look over to see Aries already repairing some of the structures, he floats over the town as he pulls the buildings back up. Manipulating the broken pieces to smooth back over the structures, the broken glass rising and forming back into the frames. Why was he helping us? He wanted my choices to be destroy or enslave, not create and evolve.

'I want to learn why you have chosen this path.. To disobey Vyx is eons of torture, I want to see why these humans are worth it to you.' Aries whispers into my mind.

I fly up to him and point down to Akira's people,

'Look at them, they are resilient. No matter how many times Vyx threw a chaotic test their way, they still begged to live. They are very complicated beings but.. I would die for their survival.'

I help Aries rebuild the rest of the town and finish burying the bodies with Deecon.

Was I truly Aries' ruler or just a step down from Vyx in his chain of command?

The more I studied him the more I started to feel the powerful force between us, showing me his emotions and train of thought. He was intrigued by the things he would get to see, to feel and to experience for the first time. Being on Veedu, he has spent everyday unchained from his power, I don't think he has ever had to show restraint or be around creatures weaker than him besides Starzithians.

Even though this is our first encounter since our birth, he felt like a friend, not a stranger. My eyes didn't scan over his body for the first time but already felt like I had seen him everyday for eons. The Book of Fables was right, I feel our past intertwined.
