Later that evening the Zodiacs had thrown a party for Hercules... in my house.
Edna had even invited Albi and Akira, Aries towering over Edna as he followed close behind her. He watched her closely more and more each day, nervous of what Vyx would do in retaliation to my escape.
I introduced Albi and Akira to the Zodiacs, Albi gushing over Hercules.
Tori attaches herself to Akira, wanting to know how she lead her group of people away from the Darus Devils. Scorpz comes beside me with crossed arms as she looks out to the interactions. She moves her head near my face and mutters.
"I guess we are the used toys, huh?"
I sigh with her.
"Our tricks have gotten old."
Scorpz grins a bit.
"How do you think Albi will react to Pollux?"
My eyes widened at the name, darting over to Hercules who thankfully didn't hear the name. I shushed her, "Do not mention that name around Hercules."
She steps in front of me with a sneer, "Keeping secrets?"
I look down to her in a huff, "No... just-... I don't know yet what it means but he gets angry if you mention that name.. Zeu-" I go to explain but catch myself, Scorpz still keeps her distance from me, I don't know if she will use this to spite me one day if she feels like it. She was very hot and cold, such a random pattern throughout the day. She barely reacted when Hercules came to Sky.
I look over to Leo who leans against the dining room table, drinking from one of my copper cups and rolling his eyes at Lib's jokes. I felt like anything I said around the Zodiacs about the weird secrets of Olympus would be blurted out or used against me. I love my family but.. We all had a little darkness in us that we couldn't escape.
"Gemini?" Scorpz looks at me in confusion to my sudden stop and I shake the thoughts from my head.
"Have you seen Deecon?" I look around the room only seeing Zodiacs and mortals, no Greek God's.
Scorpz points to the back glass door and I see two silhouettes sitting on the porch steps.
Scorpz goes to talk to Pisces who was getting a little handsy with Cane, I still don't know who Pisces would choose between them. Cane was intelligent but also a loose cannon if provoked, Scorpz was passionate but also dramatic. I keep out of it, I've had enough of love triangles for this lifetime.
I walk towards the back door nonchalantly and lean my back next to the hinges, sipping from my cup and trying to listen closely. The laughs and shouting from the Zodiacs make it very difficult to hear what Hercules and Deecon say.
What am I doing?
If they wanted me to know, they would have told me. This is a private conversation.
I rub my forehead and lean up from the doorframe, embarrassed.
I go to step and feel the door opening, Hercules shutting the door and whispering to me, "You really like to poke all the bears, don't you?"
I lower my head, "It's a constant battle being myself... Is he furious at me for supporting Sage during the battle?"
Hercules gives me a slight nod, "I've calmed him down a bit but.. I don't think it's a good idea to speak to him right now."
I giggle a bit, "Yeah.. about that..-" I grab the doorknob, "-I can never leave things alone."
Hercules lifts his head and looks up at the ceiling, "Fucking Zodiacs."
