The past week I have shown up bright and early to train with the soldiers, some had even shown before me. Practicing in the field and begging me to combat them on easy, to see if they were making headway on their homework. I would flip them on their back as they slapped my arm in surrender.
"Come on, I showed you how to get out of that!" I laugh as they dust themselves off and get back into position.
The whole week Scorpz stayed in her dwelling, no one hearing a word from her or even checking on her... I felt a little uneasy not knowing what she was up to.
"Do you think I should check on her?" My thoughts taking sound. Leo grunts under my arm as I pin him, "Who? Scorpz? She will be fine."
I flip him over, still not breaking a sweat as he struggles. "Has she gone this long without seeing anyone? I don't want her planning something to ruin our progress."
Leo taps my arm and I release him, "You know you would just end up fighting again, let it rest, Gemini."
Maybe he was right, I probably would end up fighting her again. Even if I approached her nicely, she would say something to make me snap her neck again. All the time I had known her, she always had to get the last word, to be a smart ass instead of taking criticism.
Deecon had still kept his distance, every time he saw Aries and I together.. I could feel the pins and needles of his anger rising. We would laugh together, straddle each other as we pin each other to the ground in combat, resting my head on his chest when I would get tired of fighting for the day.
Aries would toy with his emotions, letting him believe something is going on under the covers without saying it. He would scrape under his skin and leave before Deecon lashed out for him to stop.
It was fun until I started to notice Deecon not fighting back at Aries anymore, he would fake a smile and leave the conversation before Aries made a remark.
"Gemini looks great out there, wouldn't you agree?" I hear him say to Deecon as they stand on top of the stairs outside.
"I don't think I'm needed while she is here, I think I'll spend some time on Darus next week.. Maybe stay there for a while."
Had we gone too far?
Aries stands there surprised, "Why would you think that?"
Deecon heads towards the doors, "You've exhausted me, Aries. I don't have the energy to fight you anymore."
Aries goes to grab his arm but Deecon pulls away, "Deecon! You can't quit, you're supposed to call me a prick and that you'll see me tomorrow!"
And then it happened, he finally cracked. Deecon grabs Aries by the neck of his shirt, "Do you think I don't know what you are doing!? That you two haven't been sneaking off everyday!? That I haven't smelled her scent all over you the week before she came here!?"
I freeze.
I wanted him to feel the pain of knowing we had fooled around without actually confirming it. For him to squirm and go mad thinking of the possibility. The whole field of troops froze, Deecon's voice stretching across the planet as he shouted at Aries.
I didn't know if I should even blink, I wanted to disappear.
Aries struggles to get his hand off of him, "Hurts doesn't it? Your lover sleeping with the enemy."
Deecon grips tighter, pulling Aries a couple feet off the ground and slamming his back into the concrete.
"We are not enemies... You-... You were my friend. You helped me get back on my feet when Gemini had passed. You knew the moment I was about to cry and shielded me so others wouldn't see me crack! We fought of course but.. You were my friend.. Gemini returns and that bond you two have.. made you instantly turn back into the prick who saw me as competition! So yes! It fucking hurts! Congratulations!-"
