A couple weeks have passed and all of my friends gathered in the living room almost everyday to keep my plan in motion. Deecon and Edna taking care of the people of Sky and settling them in with their new job titles, Albi keeping the prison guarded with Akira still hunting down potential threats and Aries making sure the structures were comfortable for the communities merging. Each one visited me, trying to pull me out of my head but failed every time. Aries never visited, he was still silent in all the meetings, grumbling every time Deecon talked.

One night Aries had stumbled into our room, drunk and ready to be heard.
"Let me look inside of her mind!" He yelled to Deecon.
"We have already agreed as a group that it's too dangerous! If we are left with two Gods consumed by whatever Gem is infected with then we are defenseless!" He barked back, standing in front of my body on the bed.
"And you are going to stop me?" Aries scoffs, moving towards the bed.
Deecon puffs out his chest and pushes his forehead against Aries' advance.
"Do not touch her." Deecon's voice comes out in a rough order.
Aries begins to laugh, stumbling back a few steps.
"And are your sweet words making her pain go away, huh? Are your little stories of true love not breaking the witches curse? She is a God! Keeping her in this dark room is only helping her get accustomed to a cage again! If she had chosen me, she would be at full power instead of being held back by your tight leash!" Aries throws the bottle of rum in his hands at the wall, glass flying near their feet.

"She can barely blink on her own! Do you expect me to drag her down the stairs and throw her out on the lawn!?"
Aries grins and I beg him to stop his mouth from opening.
"It's not like you haven't done that before, right? Throw her against walls? Smack her face until her nose bleeds for disobeying you? I mean really is it out of your nature to push her limits?"

I see Deecon's fist ball up and before Aries could get another jab in, Deecon's fist punches him square in the jaw and sends Aries body to the wall behind him. I never knew how strong Deecon was compared to drunk Aries.. And I had finally gotten my answer.. Pretty damn strong.
Deecon runs behind Aries and puts him into a choke hold to keep him from brawling five feet from my body.
Aries huffs and puffs trying to break free but Deecon remains a rock and shouts into his thick skull,
"All you have been doing is getting drunk with the locals and never mentioning Gem's name since that night! I don't know what those memories did to you but count your blessings you aren't like Gem! She has protected these planets for thousands of years and now that she can finally see harmony between the two, she drowns in her darkness! Ever since that night you have acted as if I have stolen her from you! As if the first day you arrived you actually felt something for her! She has done nothing but teach you the ways of the humans and shown you there is more than win or lose! Are you really this big of a prick to fight in front of her because what!? She chose a human over a God!? Maybe that should tell you she isn't the Gem you knew in your past lives! I know she begs for help inside that vessel and her best chance is a half breed and drunk God who can't put his own problems aside to help his leader!"

Aries stops struggling and slinks to the floor as Deecon releases him.
He remains silent as he dusts himself off and heads for the door,
"One day you will slip up.. And she will realize how tight that collar is around her neck."

Deecon scoffs as Aries leaves the front door, pulling the blanket higher onto my arms,
"Everything will be okay Gem.. we will figure out how to make you better."
He says to me as he walks into the bathroom and turns on the shower, I know he will get me soon to feel the warm water but.. I hear him cry as he tries to use the shower to cover up his wimpers.

At night Deecon would hold me, filling the room with sweet words. Trying to bring me back like the first time I had gone lifeless, but it failed every night. Every memory he told me would be drowned in the black sea of my mind. Demon like claws pulling me further down into the screams of agony. My mouth hasn't opened in weeks and yet I scream at the top of my lungs for warmth. Someone to hear me and pull me from the depths... but no one came.. I was stranded.
