46: TAKE ME TO EDEN

Hercules was unchained, after a few days in the dungeon and me showing the memory of his father, young and happy to be by his brother's side again had left Hercules.. Less wanting to kill me and more motivation to create Olympus back in the vision of his father's memory.

Hercules gives Deecon a hug as they say their goodbyes, Hercules even tells Deecon if he is needed in this war, make a quick pit stop to pick him up. Deecon laughed at it but still kept it in his back pocket. The brand of souls was hopefully all we needed.

Aboard the ship Edna still sat quietly, things between us were still unsure. Aries and Deecon were howling with laughter up in the cockpit about something. Leaving the silent tension between me and her more deafening. I was even nervous to clear my throat.

Deecon relays that there have been no messages from Sky while we have been gone on Olympus. I'm surprised no one has called just to complain about another Zodiac.

"Do you think the Zodiacs have killed each other without me there?" I shake a laugh coming from my mouth. Edna rolled her eyes a bit, tightening her grip on her crossed leg and remained silent to comment.

I pick a bit at my nails, trying to ignore eye contact. I don't know if it was word vomit or anxiety but I spoke again.

"Hades was a smooth talker.. Bit of a bastard but he seems to like Pollux." I blurt out. Edna sarcastically laughs as she looks up to the ceiling. "Of course." She mumbles and I perk my ears up.

"Of course? What does that mean?" A little irritation in my voice.

EDNA:

Yes, of course.

Of course the Zodiacs have killed each other because there were no gracious wise words from the almighty Gemini. Of course the God of the Underworld took one look at Pollux and wanted to bed her.

HAHAHA It literally doesn't even matter if Pollux or Gemma held up a man's beating bloody heart in front of their face.. They would still beg to see her cheeks blush before them.

Did Gemma even run her plan of going to Tartarus by us first? Or did she beat her friends to escape and do it all by herself?

Gemma repeats herself, "What do mean, Of course?"

I twirl the ends of my hair in my hand, "Nothing, Gemma."

I could already tell that was a misspeak of words to her. I could see her practically fuming across from me. "Are you going to keep to yourself again? Keep all of your anger bottled up towards me? Huh? Say it! It has been days! You hate me for sleeping with Aries."

An outburst of laughter comes from me, the boys in the cockpit grow silent as they hear her outburst.

"I am not angry that you slept with Aries." I say casually, tossing my hair behind my back.

"Then what is it? You are my best friend and as soon as you found out, it's as if you despise me." She grumbles.

I want to take a nap but she just keeps going, I should have known she would never let this go.

"There are thousands of humans for you to fall in love with, why are you upset I slept with a God that has strung you along for ten years?"

That's it.

I stand form the bench and charge to her,

"Because out of every man on two planets you chose the one who would choose you over me any day of the year! Every man falls to their feet when they are in the presence of the great Gemini... I have always been in your large shadow. I don't care that you slept with him, I care that he said he loved you before me! For ten years I had missed you and mourned your death but there were moments when I could fucking breathe because you were no longer taking up the entire room! You can have Aries.. He chose you the first day he came here."
