Deecon had left for Darus the next day, telling Leo he would be back in a month to check up on everyone. I watched his ship leave as he looked at me through the window, the smallest wave he gave as he took off.
Scorpz still hadn't come back to the compound and now my worries were too great to ignore anymore. Leo had given me directions to her house and I set out after training.
Once I arrived at her front door, I battled back and forth in my head to knock or leave. I paced back and forth for a good couple minutes and jumped at the sound of her door creaking open. "Gemini?" Her voice sounds like she hasn't spoken in years.
I nod, "You haven't been to the compound in a while... Just making sure you aren't making a bomb in there." A slight joke to break the ice.
She slams the door in my face.
"Scorpz!?" I knock on the door.
She yanks it open, "If you're here to fight again, I don't have the energy."
Nobody had the energy to fight me anymore, I was running out of it too.
I count to ten before responding, remember you snapped her neck. You got your rage out of your system.
"I just-... I just wanted to see if you were.. okay." I bite the inside of my cheek, repulsed that I even had to do this. I knew it was the right thing to do, something my light side would have pushed me to do if it still had one of my ears.
She brushes her matted hair from her face and straightens her stain filled t-shirt.
"Why do you care?" She snaps back.
Again, I count to ten before responding.
"Because I am trying to be a better person than I have been since the tomb... I've been hateful and I don't like how much it's consumed me."
She softens her face a bit and uncrosses her arms, "Just say it.. You've been a drunk bitch."
AGAIN, I COUNT TO TEN.
"..Yes. I have been a.. drunk bitch." My teeth are grinding.
She leans against the doorframe, "I've been a bit of a pill as well."
I don't count to ten,
"Yes, you've been a fucking pill."
She grabs the door to slam again and I stop it with my hand. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry.. Could I come in? If we are going to war with Vyx, I don't want to be your enemy."
She rolls her eyes, pushing the door open and letting me step in.
Her place was disgusting, sticky shot glasses lined the table, garbage overflowing, clothes and blankets thrown all over the floor. I push some of the clutter from her sofa cushion and take a seat, trying my hardest to not make a face.
"What would you like to talk about first? I assume your dream boat, Deecon?" Her words lashing me in the face with taunting.
I shake my head, "I'm done talking about boys.. I wanna talk about you. How are you liking.. What did you guys name it? The Eden System?"
She sits back in her chair, crossing her legs and raising a brow.
"You want to talk about me?"
I nod.
"Well your humans have evolved a little. Last time I saw them they could barely make a mud hut without us. Now I see them creating technology without us needing to lift a finger."
I laugh a little, "Things have changed since you left us." I go to continue but she stops me, "I didn't want to leave, Vyx ordered all Starzithians and Zodiacs to come back to Veedu. Your parents fought the order for another thousand years or so until Vyx threatened them by coming down to Sky. Saying if they didn't leave then she would replace them in your next life... I liked it here, I even begged Pisces to build another Cosmic Cocktails with me across town."
