Deecon held me all night in that room. We decided to tell everyone after we got the Greeks on our side, not wanting to distract from our mission. We hid our necklaces under our clothes heading back into our room.
When the sun had finally perked over the horizon, I groaned knowing I would have to listen to Aries the next ten hours grumbling over the fight Pollux had made with him and Edna.
God's.. Edna.
"Do you think she will ever forgive me?" I asked Deecon as I packed my bag.
He sighs, throwing his to the door. "You know mortals.. They will think irrationally for a few days."
I chuck my bag at him, "You really are coming into your cocky Godly way of looking at mortals. You even talk the way I do now.. Now who is old?"
He opens his mouth to laugh but we both go silent as we hear Aries and Edna fighting in the living room. Deecon and I stepped quietly to the door to listen in, were we needed? Or were we simply spying?
"It's ten hours, Edna!"
We hear Aries bicker yet still making Edna her breakfast in the kitchen.
"I told you I don't care, Aries. I don't fucking care about what Pollux said, we aren't together remember? Why should I care who you fall in love with in your infinite years of life, hmm?"
Deecon scoffs and says lowly to me, 'Yay.. this will be a fun ride after all.. It's just the love square with you and I finally mending our relationship and apparently two assholes who can't communicate a proper conversation of what they are.. For ten.. Fucking.. Hours.'
I slide down the wall, smooshing my face in my hands. 'Fuuuuuuu...nnnnnnn.'
Hercules stands by Deecon's ship, his eyes darting to mine when he sees Edna carrying all her bags towards him.
"Edna is joining us?" He asked with a fake smile on his face. Edna sticks her tongue out at him, Aries uses words, "She insisted that she will be fine."
The craft took off into the sky and I found myself trapped in the back with Aries and Edna while Deecona and Hercules took the control room.
Edna acts as if nothing had happened, reading her book on the opposite side of me on the bench. Highlighting her favorite parts in a pink marker and chewing on the lid as she reads on. Aries hasn't looked up from the ground since we plopped down, little spikes of anxiety hitting me everytime he battles on looking up or not.
The only thing that sounded back here was a little sigh from me as I got comfortable, leaning up against the side wall of the bench and crossing my feet.
The sigh must have hit Edna's ear wrong and she scrunches her nose in irritation of it, readjusting her posture.
After a couple hours or so of insufferable silence and side comments from the control room, Deecon set the ship to auto pilot and joined us in the back. We all sat around a circle table, shot glass before all of us and the bottle in the middle. Hercules was showing us a drinking game from his world, Kottabos.
"Now we don't have the luxury of flinging wine behind us and not ruining Triton's ship.. So each of us will have this ball-"
Hercules stretches out a piece of leather from his suit, commanding me to form it into a ball with my manipulation. I do as told and hand it back to him, "-Now each one of us shall take turns throwing the ball behind ourself to make into our bowl Aries has placed behind each of us. If you miss, you take a shot. If you make it, you choose who takes yours."
Hercules goes first, of course making it in the first try. Aries grumbles, "No powers."
Hercules hands him the ball, "No powers.. Just skill.. And I choose you to take the first shot, you grumpy bear."
