Chapter 14- kidnapped

That night I did some research in my new room. I found out that the gang called themselves the raiders and they kidnap people and hold them for ransom, and if they don't get what they want, they kill their hostages. They've killed five people so far and fifteen people captured and released once the ransom was paid. These guys can't be caught because the ransom notes were always signed "raiders" and people would just disappear. And once the ransom was left somewhere, people just showed up somewhere. But lately they are trying their biggest stunt yet. They have twenty people in capture and they are charging the city a million for each and they are still taking people. And they said that tonight they are going to start killing the hostages if they don't get what they want. One person every night. Not even captain man could catch them. This is where we need batman! But we don't have batman! But we do have a former super villain with ice powers! I made the plan that tonight I would make plans with henry to meet him somewhere and then go into the city alone as a civilian and get captured. Henry would immediately know I'm missing because I never showed up so he would tell Ray. The raiders would take me to their location and since there is a tracker in my ring that Ray has, he'll find me. And when captain man and kid danger show up I'll change into Wintersmyth and we'll take them down! I can't tell anyone not even henry about this because there is no way he'll let me do it. But I have powers and its time I used them. I perfected the plan all night long. Then, morning came. I will admit, this plan makes me nervous, but I can hide it and pull it off perfectly! Right? I got ready and met henry outside of junk and stuff as usual. "What's up buttercup?" Henry asked. "Don't. Don't ever say that again! That was almost painful to hear!" I joked. "Fine. What's up home slice?" I almost died of laughter. "No that was worse! Waaaay worse! So what are your plans tonight?" I asked casually. "Plans? Nothing yet. What do you have in mind?" He asked as we held hands and walked to school. "Well I was thinking since our first date didn't go so well, we could go bowling tonight?" He looked up. "Glow bowling?" He asked hopefully. "What else? So I'll meet you there at 6:00?" I asked. "Shouldn't we go together?" He lowered his voice as if someone was listening. "You know, because the raiders are still out there?" I shook my head. "Do you really think that they could get us? We're superhero sidekicks for cripes sake! I think we can defend ourselves. Let's just meet there okay?" He nodded slowly while I prayed he bought it. "Sure. But did you really just say cripes?" I laughed with relief and the fact he was laughing at me. "Yeah I did! And face it, you liked it!" We talked and laughed and did couples things all the way to school. The day went by normally and no one suspects what I'm planning. Probably because I've gotten so good at hiding things. By the end of the day I needed a reason to get away from henry so I could meet him at the bowling alley. We started heading towards the man cave. "Hey are you working today?" I asked. "No why?" He said. "Then why are you going to the man cave?" I asked. "Am I not allowed to follow the one I love?" He said which made me blush a little and I pecked his lips. "Yes and I love you too babe. But the thing is... I have this really big test coming up and I have to focus to study." Huh, that excuse works! "Maybe I can help you study!" Henry said. "Oh I don't think so it's on the history of Timbuktu! Really fascinating stuff! But I need to focus so I'll just meet you at the bowling alley tonight?" "Are you sure I shouldn't pick you up? Those guys are still out there and-" "I'll be fine! I can handle myself! Just meet me there and we'll do some bowling!" I laughed. "Okay." He made an adorable pouty face. I kissed him. "See you later babe." I said. "See you!" He said before walking the other direction. Okay everything is going great. But I still had that feeling that something could go wrong. What if they don't find me? I know I have powers but what if they don't work for some reason and they kill me? Even worse, what if they kill henry! I won't let that happen. If one of them even looks at my henry I will freeze them and smash them! I went back to the man cave and did my homework with butterflies in my stomach. Then eventually the time came. I stood up, made sure I had my gum, and started to leave. "Where are you going?" Ray asked. "Bowling with henry." I said. "I don't think that you should go anywhere by yourself." He said. "Well that's why Henry's outside waiting for me! I'll be fine!" I said. "Alright. Have fun!" "I will!" I will have fun kicking butt! I left the building and started walking. I made sure to take all the dark roads and lonely alleyways. For a while nothing happened. What they don't see me? I kept walking. Then I heard footsteps behind me. It was part of the plan but I still got nervous and wanted to run. The steps got closer and closer and there were more of them. They were right behind me. Then hands grabbed my arms and legs. Some guys in masks shoved me to the ground and tied me up. I pretended to struggle but really let them do it. Then they put a strange cloth over my mouth and I got really tired and fell asleep.
