Chapter 16- the dance part two

Winters pov
Right as school ended I realized that I had nothing to wear to that dance tonight. I ran to Charlotte. "Charlotte! I need your help! I have no idea what I'm supposed to wear o this dance! Will you help me pick out an outfit?" I asked. "Sure lets go to the mall. But a dress isn't enough. It's your first dance! We're going to make you look awesome!" She grabbed my hand and dragged me to the mall. We started looking through clothes but nothing really stood out to me. "If we don't find something soon I'm just going to buy something and be done with it!" I said. "No way! We will find the perfect dress!" She looked behind me and gasped. "And there it is!" She said. I turned around and the perfect blue dress was on the rack. We immediately bought it and rushed to the man cave o get ready. She helped me put on makeup like lipstick and stuff. As soon as I learned what lipstick was. She curled my hair and when she was done I looked in the mirror and didn't recognize who I saw. "You. Are. A. Miracle worker!" I screamed and Charlotte bowed. "I know." She said casually. " I have to go help set up in the gym. Is henry picking you up?" She asked. "Actually I don't know. I'll text him." I said and got my phone.

W are we meeting at the man cave and going together?
H can we meet there? I have something to do
W uh yeah sure I guess
H love you!

"I guess he's meeting me there." I said. "Well I got to go. See you there!" She said and left. I watched tv for a while until it was time to go. I stood up and walked out of my room. Ray and schwaz saw me when I walked out and their jaws dropped. "What?" I asked. "Nothing. I've just never seen YOU in a dress before." Ray said. "Don't remind me." I said. "You are going to knock henry dead!" Schwaz said. "Figuratively speaking yes I hope so." I laughed. "Well I'm off! Wish me luck!" I said and went up the tube.

Henry's pov
I have the perfect plan to get back at that jerk Mitch! I set it all up in the gym. "What is that?" Charlotte asked motioning to my prank. "THAT is five gallons of mud hanging over the door. And the minute Mitch walks through it all I have to do is press this button for it all to dump on his head! He'll be so humiliated and he'll never go near winter again!" I grinned evilly. "I don't know. This kind of feels like one of those plans that completely backfires. Doesn't it?" I rolled my eyes. "It's totally fine! What could possibly happen?" She just shrugged and walked away. I waited patiently while the dance started but I didn't see Mitch so I went over to the snack table and set the remote down to get some punch. Then when I looked at the door I saw winter come in. She was beautiful. I stared open mouthed as she stopped in the doorway and waved at me. I smiled and leaned on the table, only to feel something click under my hand. The button. I saw five gallons of mud pour down on her. And everyone else saw it too. People started laughing and pointing. She looked at me with hurt and ran out. Charlotte stormed over. "Ramen er when you said what could possibly happen? That could happen." I quickly ran after winter.

Winters pov
I walked to the door of the gym. I saw henry and waved. He looked so cute! Then he smiled back. But then he pushed a button. Mud poured all over my perfect dress. I was ruined. Everyone started laughing and I felt tears welling up in my eyes as I ran out. I burst into tears by the time I reached the hallway. How could he do this to me?! "Winter wait!" Henry caught up to me. "WHAT?!" I screamed sending an icy wind his way. "I'm sorry. Please let me explain!" "EXPLAIN WHAT?! NOW I UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING! THIS WAS ALL JUST A PRANK FOR YOU! YOU WERE JUST PLAYING ME THE WHOLD TIME SO YOU COULD HUMILIATE ME IN FROMT OF EVERYONE! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! YOU STILL THINK IM EVIL DONT YOU?! YOU NEVER BELIEVED THAT I COULD CHANGE! IT WAS ALL JUST AN ACT!" I screamed. Tears were streaking the mud in my face. "No that's not true!" He begged. "Yes it is! You lied to me this whole time! And I thought that maybe we could work! I should have known. Good and bad never go together. I'm done. With whatever we were." I turned and ran before he could say another word. I ran all the way back to the man cave. When I came down the elevator Ray and schwaz gasped. "Vhat happened?!" Schwaz asked. "Henry happened!" I cried. "Henry did this?!" Ray asked surprised. "Yeah. I should've known this was his plan the whole time! Take me in, trick me, just so he can use me! And your in on it too aren't you! You don't actually want me to be a hero! It's all just a trick!" Ray put his hands on my shoulders. "Calm down. No ones tricking you. I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason for henry to do that." "Like what?! He hates me! I'm not going back to that dance!" I yelled then ran to my room. I will never forget the way people looked at me when the mud fell. The way they laughed. I could still hear it. That's probably exactly what henry wanted. I hate him. I heard a knock on the door and Charlotte came in. I was in a ball in the corner. "What are you still doing in that dress?" She asked. "Who's gonna see it? Besides the entire school I was embarrassed in front of." I frowned. "Look I know you think that henry was trying to do that to you. But that mud wasn't meant for you." "Yes it was!" I yelled. "Would you let me explain? That prank was made for Mitch Bilsky. When henry saw how Mitch treated you he got angry and wanted to get back at him. So he set the prank but accidentally pressed the button when you walked in." She explained. "Really? He was trying to protect me?" I asked looking up. "Yeah. And now that you feel better your going back to that dance!" Charlotte stood up. "Your forgetting two things. One there's no way I'm going back there after what happened and two, even if I wanted to I have nothing to wear." Charlotte thought. "I have an idea. Just shower and meet me in the man cave. Your going to show everyone how strong you are! Get up!" She left and I got in the shower. As I showered I started thinking. Thinking about all the drama this relationship has caused me. Thinking about how much I love henry. Thinking about how I'm supposed to balance a life like this with training. Then I realized something. I have to stay broken up with Henry. That hurt more than any hit I've ever received. But I know that it has to be done. I got out of the shower and put on a bathrobe and went to the man cave.
