Chapter 31- Choices

Winters pov
For the next few days Henry and I went on many more dates, but our first one was the only one that turned into a mission. I now remember why I loved being with him so much. He always makes me laugh and whenever he kisses me it's like the whole world stops. I've pretty much made up my mind now. I don't want to be winter anymore. I want to stay Angela forever. I'll be happier and Henry will be happier. It's now Saturday and Henry and I are sitting on my bed in my room watching Netflix. I convinced him to try watching bones even though he thinks that cop shows are boring and predictable. But after he watched the first episode he got hooked. We watched season after season. We started playing a game where we would try to guess the killer every episode. "I don't get it! How did you know all of these so well!" Henry exclaimed after turning off the tv. "Do you really want to know how many times I've watched all these episodes?" He laughed and shook his head. "No probably not!" I smiled. "Good choice!" "So you've just been staying in winters room these whole two weeks?" I nodded. "And she's okay with that?" Again I nodded. "She's fine with it as long as I don't mess up her room. And I haven't so we're all good here!" I said. "I can't believe your leaving tomorrow! It feels like you just got here yesterday!" I faked a smile. "Yeah. I know. Listen Henry, I-" I was going to tell him that I decided to move here but winter had decided to stay in Miami because they needed a superhero, but he cut me off. "I mean, I'll be excited to see winter again, I've missed her a lot too." I closed my mouth. I decided to to ask a question. "So if you had the choice, who would you want here, me or winter?" He thought for a minute. "I don't know! That's like a parent trying to pick between their favorite child!" I pressed further. "But if you had to choose?" He gave me a puzzled look. "Why does it matter?" I quickly responded. "It doesn't! I was just making conversation!" Well that got me nowhere! "Hey I gotta go help my parents paint the garage. But can we hang out later?" Henry asked. "I don't want you to leave!" I said in a baby voice and he laughed. "I don't want to leave either! It's not really my choice my parents own me! So later?" I nodded. "I'll text you!" He started to get up but I pulled him back down and kissed him. Then I started to get up but he pulled me down and kissed me. "Are we going to do this all day?" I said through laughter. "Can we?" He said grinning. "Yeah yeah go paint your garage!" We got up and walked to the man cave. He went to the tubes and I have him a kiss goodbye. "See you later!" I said. "Yeah. See ya!" He said then the tube came down and took him away. I stood there enjoying his lingering presence. "AWE!" I jumped out of my skin. Ray and Schwaz were standing by the sprocket googling. "Really? You creeps! Just standing there watching a girl spend time with her boyfriend!" I said walking down the steps. "That's not why we're in here! We came to tell you that we've figured out how o change you back! We can do it tomorrow!" Ray said. I frowned. I guess now was as good a time as any to tell them. "About that. I was thinking, and I don't really... want to be winter anymore." I said slowly and Rays face dropped. "What do you mean?" He asked. "I want to stay Angela Cooper. Forever." I said. "You can't do that!" He said. "Why not?! When I'm Angela I can keep dating Henry and still help you by being your sidekick I just won't use my powers! I don't need them as I proved at the amusement park!" Now he seemed angry. "Do you actually believe that?! You and I both know that some jobs only your powers can handle! So you just want to completely leave who you really are and lie to everyone forever?" I nodded. "Yes! Think about it, it's like a clean slate for me! Everything can start over!" He shook his head. "Listen to yourself! How do you think Henry will feel if he thinks that winter is never coming back?! Do you really think that your closer to him as Angela then you are as winter? Dating or not he cares about you as you no matter what! It would crush him thinking that your not coming back!" I knew he was right so I just gritted my teeth and stood. "Your not staying like this! Your changing back tomorrow and that's final!" Now I snapped. "YOU CANT TELL ME WHAT TO DO YOUR NOT MY FATHER!" That hit him hard. We both knew that he had been more of a parent to me then I've ever had. "I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that." I said quietly. "Fine. You don't want to change back? Don't. But remember this conversation. Because the next time we're on a job and someone loses their life because you refused to use your powers just to keep this stupid cover a secret, maybe you'll think differently about the situation at hand. I screamed and ran to my room and jumped onto my bed and started crying. Why do I have to be the hero all the time?! Why do I have to give up everything to save everyone else?! This was my one chance to be normal! But if I stay normal people will die! It's not fair! Something lit up next to me. I thought it was my phone, but then I realized that it wasn't mine. It was Henry's. He had gotten a text. It was from Bianca. "Henry we need to talk. I miss you." It said. I know I shouldn't snoop around in his phone, but as his girlfriend it's my job to snoop! He had a password on his phone, but knowing him I put in 1234 and I got in. He had been having a conversation with her. She kept begging him to take her back but he wouldn't. And then she yelled at him for not ending this in person. I have to agree it's kinda rude. Then I looked at his other conversations. And one of them was with a girl named Veronica. As I read it I realized that Veronica was the girl a he went out with when he was with the wall dawgs. She wanted to meet up with him because she missed him. I guess he never told her about me. It seems like he has a lot of girls he's been leading on for a while now. A lot of loose ends that will become a knot if he doesn't tie them off. It's time for him to make a decision. I texted them back. "Meet me at the park at 6:00 tonight." Just then I heard a knock on my door. I shut off his phone and threw it where it was. The door opened and henry came in. "Hey did I leave my phone- oh there it is!" He saw it and went over and picked it up. "Yeah you left it here." I said. He looked at me. "Have you been crying?" I realized how crappy I must look. "No! You know sometimes when you yawn and your eyes water? That's what happened!" He nodded slowly. "Okay." He said. "Hey can we go to the park tonight? Around sixish?" I asked. "Why?" He asked. "Oh just because I'm in the mood for trees!" I said smiling. "You could go by yourself." "Can we just go to the park please?!" I said frantically. He raised his hands in defense. "Okay! Sheesh you must really like trees!" I nodded. "I do! See you tonight!" He nodded and I gave him a kiss. "Okay sure." He said before leaving. Phew! That was harder than expected! It's 4:00 now so that means I just have to wait for two hours until it's time. I didn't really want to hang around here any longer mainly because Ray was here. So I decided to go see a movie. I went and saw Hotel Transylvania two and it was hilarious. (I actually really want to see this.) afterwards I went back to the man cave to get ready. After all I want to look good so he'll choose me. Soon enough he got here and we left for the park. When we got there I started searching for Bianca and Veronica. "Hey I'll be right back!" I said. "Where are you going?" He asked. "Places!" I said. "Why are you acting so weird?!" He said. "Why are you acting so normal?!" I retaliated and took off before he could say anything else. I looked around for a while until I saw Bianca mad Veronica standing by the pond on opposite sides. I dragged them together. "Look I know you don't know me. By the way my name is Angela Cooper! But if you want to know why you were brought here then stay here!" I said and ran off before they could say anything. I went and found Henry and started dragging him in that direction. "Where are we going?" He asked. "To the pond!" I said. Soon I found them again. Henry looked bewildered. "Bianca? Veronica? What are you doing here?" They looked confused. "You texted us." Bianca said. "No I didn't." He said. I spoke up. "I texted them." He looked at me. "What's?! Why?!" He said frustrated. "Because it's time for you to make a decision Henry. You've been leading all three of us along and it has to stop. You have to choose. Who do you love?" I asked. Everyone stared hard at him and he looked hard at the ground for while. It was so quiet I heard a fish jump in the water. Then he looked up. And he made his decision.
