Chapter 26- Unfinished buisness

Winters pov
I woke up tied to a chair. I looked around the man cave. Everyone was staring at me. I didn't remember anything at first. Then slowly everything came back. "Winter? How do you feel?" Henry asked keeping his distance. "It's over. I promise." I said. "How can we be sure it isn't a trick?" Ray asked suspiciously. "We could test her memory!" I said and Ray nodded. I kneeled in front of winter. "Winter. Remember the first night we met at the park? When you said you could never fight fir good, do you remember what I told you?" She thought for a minute then smiled. "You told me that we all have a dark side of us. A side the does bad things and we wish that we could get rid of. Because that's what normal is. But anyone can be good. Now I know you were right." He smiled and hugged me. "I would hug back, but uh, if you don't mind untying me?" He let go. "Oh yeah!" He and Ray untied me. "Okay winter I know you've been through a lot, but dr. Maniac and fireball are still out there and we need your help to catch them. Did they say anything about where'd they be? A meeting place or something?" I thought back to that awful time. Slowly I nodded. "Yes. Before you came to rescue me we made a plan. Since I had a list of terrible things I wanted to do, terrible terrible things." I put myself back on track. "So I glad them to hold up in an abandoned house on Main Street. And once I'd taken care of my, business, I would meet them there. Then we were going to kill the mayor. They wouldn't try without me, because I was their weapon." I looked down. "Great! Well go there and take them down!" Ray said but I stopped him. "No! I have to do it! They kidnapped me, brainwashed me, cursed me with more powers and made me hurt innocent people and the people I love. Not to mention fireball trend to raise me to hurt people. I have to do this, alone. They don't know I was captured so I can go in there pretending to be evil and I will take them out." I said coldly. "Okay. You can do it." Ray said. I went around and hugged everyone. "I missed you guys so much! I can't believe I wanted to kill you!" I said. "Can you give us a minute guys?" Henry asked. I was so glad he did. Everyone left and it was just us. I looked at him. "Winter I know what I said was wrong but-" I ran over and hugged him. "I don't care what you said. It's done. Over. Coming back to save me means you didn't mean what you said. I forgive you." Then I started crying. "Woah woah woah! What are you crying for?" He asked. "I tried to kill you! I killed people I didn't even know! I'm so sorry!" I sobbed into his shoulder. "Hey that wasn't your fault. You were being controlled you didn't know what you were doing. That wasn't you." I looked straight into his eyes. "But that doesn't bring them back. I still killed them. I can never take that back." I said still crying. He wiped the tears with his thumb and held my face in his hands. "Everyone does things they regret. Sometimes you just have to except that there's no fix." I nodded. "Now I have to take care of the real people to blame. I should go alone. I don't want you to see this." He nodded. "We understand. But if you need us just use your ring." I nodded. "I will. I'll be back." I said before leaving up the tube. I made my way to Main Street and found the house. I quietly went in. "Dad? Mom?" I whispered. They stepped out. "That was quick! Short list?" Fireball asked. "Nope. I just used the quick, fun, and dirty methods." I laughed. "Now what's the plan for the mayor?" I asked. "We will get past the guards into city hall. Then we will kill the mayor and the city will be ours!" Dr. Maniac said. "I don't think killing the mayor will automatically make us rulers of the city." I said. "No, but we will use the mayor as an example of anyone who tries to stop us! That's why you have to kill him! So everyone will know your powers!" I I grinned evilly. "We should get going! The mayor comes back from lunch in half an hour! I can't wait to tell everyone that my daughter killed the mayor of Swellview and their superheroes!" They turned to leave but I used my telekinesis to shove them into a wall and held them there. "Sorry. But the only people I'm going to kill, are you two! And I never killed captain man and kid danger! They gave me my memories back!" I said proud of myself. They had a look on their faces telling me that they were so surprised to find out that they had been tricked. "You know, I'm pretty sick of you two! And you two are pretty sick! I really can't stand people who try to turn me against my own family." They looked scared. They should be. After all, they were helpless. I was their best weapon. Sure fireball had powers but they were nothing compared to mine. "We are your family! I'm your mother! Let me down this instant!" She screamed. "Hmm let me think about that, no! Your not my mother anymore! I'm not even sure you ever were my mother. I work for good. I'm done hurting people." Dr. Maniac grinned. "Then if your really good, you won't kill us. And think about it! I could give your so much power! It could all be in your hands!" I laughed. "Right, because more power is exactly what I want! You two have messed with me and manipulated me for long enough! I'm done! Your a danger to this city and after everything you did to me, trust me I'll have no problem killing you!" Fireball laughed. "Your just like me! You don't see it but you are! No matter what you do! Go ahead! Kill us! It won't change who you are! You will always have evil in you no matter how much good you do! No matter how far you run it won't matter! Your always going to be evil! And you will end up just like me!" She screamed. "Well nobody's perfect. And I'll fight it as long as I have to. And trust me, there is no way I can be so unlucky as to turn out like you! Id love to stay and chat, but I have things to take care of. See you in hell." I said. Then I started slowly freezing dr. Maniac. I started with his feet, then his legs, then the rest of him. He screamed until we was fully frozen. I walked over I him frozen on the wall next to fireball. "No! Don't kill him! Please! I'm sorry!" Fireball begged. "I think we're way past sorry. Just wait your turn." Then I punched dr. Maniac as hard as I could and he smashed. "NO!" Fireball cried. "Yes." I said. I turned to her. "And for you." The ground started to shake. Wind swirled dust everywhere creating clouds over head. Thunder boomed inside the house. Snow flurries flew around. Then the first bolts of lightning struck her. Many more followed. I had done it. I killed the two biggest criminals in the city. One of them being my mother. But surprisingly I didn't feel very bad at all. I checked her pulse to make sure she was dead and she was. I let her fall to the ground. Things were catching on fire and the whole place was going up in flames so I got out. The house was barley holding together anyways so it collapsed in a matter of minutes. That was the end. I walked back to the man cave. When I went down the tube everyone was waiting right there. "So?" Charlotte asked. "It's done. Their dead. I made sure." Everyone nodded. No one smiled. After all that's happened it just didn't seem right. "Well I don't know about you guys, but I need some sleep!" Ray said and everyone agreed. "We all do. It's probably been the worst few days of my life. I jut want to take off this costume and crash!" I said. Soon everyone left once again leaving me and Henry. "So how are you holding up?" He asked. I walked over and hugged him. "I'm fine. But how are you? I know I worried you." He laughed. "You gave me a heart attack! But it's over now. That's all that matters." He let go. "I know I already said it but I am really sorry about what I said." I nodded. "I think we're even considering I tried to kill you. More than once." We laughed. "Yeah okay. I just don't want it to be complicated anymore." I nodded. "For once we agree on something!" We laughed again. "Okay. I'm going to get some sleep now. You should too." I nodded. "Trust me I will! In the past three days I've been heartbroken, kidnapped, drugged multiple times, turned evil, and gained more powers and used them non stop. Let's just say I'm tired." He smiled. "I'm just glad your back and it's over." Then he left and I went to bed. It didn't feel over. Something still didn't seem right. I didn't sleep for a while thinking about what was still bothering me. Eventually I gave up and went to sleep.
