Still Kicking

Y/n groaned and tilt her head to the side. She tried to move but it was excruciating. The loud beeping beside her made her crack an eye open.

She was in a hospital bed and her BP was going through the roof. She blinked trying to clear the fog from her eyes. Aizawa looked down at her from the end of her bed as a nurse rushed in assessing her. "Did she just wake up?" Aizawa nodded as the nurse checked on her.

"It's likely due to her waking up, the morphine is wearing off and being scared. I'll give her something for the pain." She administered morphine to the iv and took her leave.

Y/n's eyes darted around the room looking for someone, for katsuki. Aizawa saw the sheer panic in her eyes "he's in the hallway." Her heart calmed as the relief eased into her body like a heavy blanket and she released a breath "he's okay?" Her voice sounded hoarse and gravelly.

Aizawa nodded and pulled a chair up to her bedside "he finally fell asleep on a bench, he tried to fight me when I told him to go home." Y/n's mouth lifted in a half smile "sounds just like him" Aizawa chuckled and sighed "how do you feel?" She eyed him "like shit".

Her eyes fixed on her hand and dragged over and down her leg. "Is it as bad as it looks?" He cleared his throat "considering you should be dead I'd say not too bad. You're burned along your arm, torso and leg." She nodded "did hawks get Max?" Aizawa released an annoyed sigh "no, from what they described toga was able to take her into the black mist of kurogiri, a league member, and escape."

Her uninjured hand gripped the hospital blanket "she's..she's not the same, I mean if anyone knows that it's me but she's extremely powerful now. I didn't stand a chance." Aizawa crossed his arms and lent back in the chair "what happened during that fight?"

"Well for starters she can fly?" He quirked a brow "it's almost like she became pure electricity with a physical appearance. And then well I figured out pretty fast I didn't stand a chance and tried to hold out against her attacks." She rolled her eyes "then Toga was running at us, I thought maybe she hurt katsuki and I couldn't even handle Max let alone another villain so if I knocked her unconscious hawks would at least capture her." Aizawa furrowed his brows at her "what did you do?" She smirked "I shot a web at her connecting us and used the connection to use venom strike. So we took each other out."

    Mr. Aizawa pondered for a moment, face scrunching in confusion. Y/n was about to ask what he was thinking but katsuki swung the door open making it bounce off the wall. His eyes were bloodshot and the moment their eyes connected he let out a sob.

     He ran to her bedside, and wrapped a hand around her thigh before burying his head into her side. She had never seen him cry, he was always the strong one, confident loud and angry. Tears pricked her eyes as her good hand combed through his unkempt hair "kat I'm okay" his voice sounded muffled and cracked "i saw you die!" His pained voice was a stab to the heart "I watched them doing everything to revive you, I heard your ribs crack during cpr, I saw you slipping away right in front of me"

     Aizawa had walked into the hallway by now questioning when they'd gotten so close. Y/n tugged his arm "hey look at me" his tear streaked face turned up to her "just like you told me, I'm not going fucken anywhere."

     He smiled sadly and took a deep breath, wiping his tears with the back of his hand "you look like shit" she scoffed a smile adorning her face "shut the fuck up kat." She flicked his forehead

     Aizawa walked back in and looked between the two "so what's going on between you two?" The two froze trying to fight the blush rising to their cheeks. "Nothing!" They both said in unison. Aizawa narrowed his eyes at them. Katsuki tsked "you've been making me tutor her dumbass since day one, what can I say. The little shit grew on me."
Y/n scowled at him "you dick!" He huffed "I told you I'm not a dick!" She rolled her eyes "fine you're an asshole." He smiled smugly at her earning a scoff.

    Aizawa watched the interaction with a grin, feeling a little proud y/n had made a close friend out of none other than Katsuki Bakugo, little did he know it was much more than friendship.

     Y/n huffed "alright I'm starving when can I eat, also when can I leave." Aizawa sighed in annoyance "you students of mine never take a damn break." She beamed at her teacher "we wouldn't be hero's if we did."

    Katsuki who'd been by her side the moment they brought her out of icu began explaining "there were a few doctors here with quirks similar to recovery girl, they managed to fix your heart and broken ribs but couldn't do anymore since you were too weak." She nodded "they treated your burns traditionally and once you're back at UA recovery girl will get to healing those."

     She shrugged "that's not too bad" katsuki glared at her "you died you're heart stopped but they managed to revive you and take you into surgery." Her eyes fell to the floor "oh"

     Aizawa sat on the chair from earlier "that being said they are confused and impressed at how well you are recovering." Her eyebrows raised "oh that's because of my quirk, I'm able to recover a bit faster than normal." He shook his head "we know that, but even on someone with a regenerative quirk of the sorts would have died from the voltage you took."

     Katsuki furrowed his brows "do you know what your parents quirks were?" She thought for a moment "my mom for sure had a spider quirk similar to mine. From what my aunt told me she could adhere to solid surfaces, shoot webs, had spidey sense, super strength/speed, fast recovery time and could camouflage." She pondered "I didn't even know my dad, so I couldn't tell you what his quirk was but maybe his is why I can venom strike?"

    Aizawa sighed "we can look into this when we get back to the school but for now I'll go down and get food for you, and you rest."

     Katsuki held her hand "if you pull some shit like this again I'll kill you myself." Y/n gave him a toothy smile, happy to have his spicy personality back.
