The drive to the cemetery was about 45 minutes, giving y/n time to collect her thoughts and pull herself together. She had the remaining bouquet of poppy's sitting on the center console, no music playing just a comfortable silence and katsuki's hand wrapped around hers.

At the cemetery she wracked her brain trying to remember where the Parker's were buried since she never came. Her eyes skimmed over dozens and dozens of headstones before they landed on a group of newer looking ones.

She hesitantly walked over reading the names that confirmed this was the correct place. She knelt down in front of Peters grave letting her hand reach out and trace the name on the stone. Silent tears streaked her face as she set the bouquet of flowers down.

Poppy's. Red poppy's. 'A symbol of remembrance and hope for a peaceful future.'

Katsuki sat down with her. They sat in silence for a long while. He knew words wouldn't do much to comfort in this moment, she just needed to grieve and he was there to support her.

After a long silence she turned to him this time telling him about the Parker family. The sun began sinking closer to the horizon as it neared evening, her smile seemed to return with each story and memory.

Y/n sighed and pursed her lips together with a stern look before getting up and dusting herself off. She turned to katsuki "gotta go to the car real quick." He placed a kiss on her forehead "I'll go get them, you go find her."

She turned and walked to where she had been told Aunt Maylin was buried after the funeral. Her throat felt tight as she read the headstone. She all but dropped to the ground in front of it with her head hanging "im so sorry"

She folded her arms on the stone and placed her head down on them, shoulders shaking as a sob wracked from her. "It should've been me." She felt her heart breaking all over again "I'm so sorry."

Katsuki approached with a bouquet of pink peonies, his own eyes stinging at the scene before him. He set the bouquet down making sure it looked nice and placed a hand on y/n's back.

Her head lifted and she sniffled "katsuki I can't lose anymore people." His mouth turned down in a frown as she continued "I don't think I can take it if lose anymore people, especially you." She hiccuped from crying so hard.

He lifted her chin to look at him through teary eyes "I can't promise you won't lose more people, but I promise to always be there and protect you and our friends."

The sky turned a vibrant hue of orange and red "common let's get some food in you and we'll grab some stuff from your house before heading to the hotel." Y/n took a shaky breath and turned to the grave one last time with a pained look before following katsuki back to the car.

Back at the house katsuki set down some food they picked up on the way while y/n checked her phone. "Shit!" Katsuki's eyes flicked up to her "what wrong?" She looked panicked as she snatched the keys off the counter "we have to leave right now katsuki"

He was up and standing gathering their things "what the hell why? What happened?!" Her voice shook as she spoke "I told uru to keep tabs on the League, she sent me a message this morning but I didn't have signal and then I left it in the car..fuck fuck fuck."

Katsuki grabbed her shoulder "what the fuck did she say?" Y/n's eyes were wide with fear "they're here kat, she said they were coming to my house!"

This time katsuki grabbed her hand and the keys and dragged her towards the garage as fast as he could, he threw the door open and came face to face with Max. He pushed y/n behind him defensively before Max shocked him enough to make him drop to the floor.
