The day finally came, y/n stood rigidly beside Katsuki as they waited to board the plane. The smell of coffee and perfume stirred around them as they walked up to the podium, a woman with a slicked back bun gave a tight lipped smile "Passports and boarding passes?"
Y/n handed hers over and katsuki followed, waiting while the woman looked them over. "Have a nice flight." Y/n nodded with a forced smile and pulled her carry on behind her as she followed katsuki.
Her mind was elsewhere as she mindlessly put her carry on in the overhead compartment. Her eyes widened slightly as she looked at the two comfortable first class seats that katsuki was already slouched so cozily into.
"First class?" He quirked a brow at her question "didn't you look at your ticket?" She shook her head "no, I just expected to be in economy or something." He grinned at her, tilting his head to the side "Perks of being at the number one hero school."
Y/n's lips curved up into a grin "huh, guess so." She sat down letting the large reclining seat engulf her in the luxe cushions. Her leg nervously shook as the passengers filed on.
Katsuki looked at her leg "what's wrong." Her head lent back against the headrest as she shut her eyes tightly. "I'm scared to go back." He sighed and snuck his hand into hers, interlacing their fingers. "I know, but you've come this far.. if you can't be strong I'll be strong for you. kay?"
She nodded and cracked her eyes open "i still haven't decided if we're going to stay at a hotel or not." His hand squeezed hers gently "you can decide once we visit your house, if it feels like too much we will go find the fanciest fucken hotel room."
She chuckled and turned to look at him "the school would let us do that?" He scoffed with a grin "fuck no. But I sure as hell will." The warm cheerful voice of a flight attendant filled the plane.
"Ladies and gentleman, welcome onboard.." y/n sighed and turned her phone to airplane mode as she tuned out the familiar pre-flight announcements.
They buckled the seat belts and waited, katsuki more impatient than most. Y/n's eyes flicked to the window and watched as they moved, preparing for takeoff.
The excitement of flying sent small doses of adrenaline through her as she watched the scenery speed by before the plane lifted and ascended into the sky. Her muscles tensed at the sensation before she felt the previous adrenaline ooze away as the plane leveled.
The flight was a long one, 15 hours to be exact. Luckily in a world full of quirks, people could opt to pay more for a direct flight with pilots who's quirks made it possible to keep going without landing.
Katsuki and y/n opted to try and sleep most the flight to adapt to the time difference. Y/n was frustrated since she was finally on Japan time but not for long.
The plane landed in Portland Oregon and the two sleepily climbed into the back of an Uber. After a two hour drive through heavy traffic and the foresty scenic highway they arrived at the coast, in a beach town named Arch Cape.
The two arrived at her house, the car slowing to a stop in the driveway. She thanked the driver and dawned her camouflage before getting out like they'd been doing since break started.
She could feel her throat tightening, stomach lurching and every bone in her body telling her to move in the opposite direction. Katsuki snagged the key she'd given him from his pocket and slipped it into the slit unlocking the door with a click.
He pushed the door slowly letting a eerie creak echo through the empty home. The two stepped inside and she finally released her quirk once the door shut behind them.
