"Shackled"
Born from the pearl of the oriental sea
an entity of Filipino blood,
I see
Because of your ancestors' patriotism you are freed
Colonizers and invaders can no longer transgress their power and greedYour people have united and joined in camaraderie
To revolutionize your country and take back your stolen liberty
Lives have been slain,
blood has been spilled
All for the independence you crave to rebuildBut have you truly spread your wings?
Has the door of your cage opened widely for you to fly away?
But alas,
why can't you soar much higher than yesterday?
Have you finally noticed the shackles they've cling?~•~•~•~
