This was the first prose that I have written and it was quite an attempt to be honest. It was also a project at school and I wanted to keep it as an inspiration for other works.

"A Cloud"

Once, a little girl was sitting on a cloud. It's so soft and light but she doesn't fall even if she tries. The cloud took care of her and always asked if she's comfortable and fine, and she would always answer, "I'm great. In fact I'm divine."

The cloud is very soft and fluffy. And the little girl really enjoyed its company. Though she always wonder how it carries her every day, since they never flew that high.

When the sun sets, she is alive and awake. Because it's a sign that the night will take over. The brightest star will appear once again. Twinkling and shining making her mighty grand.

"I wish I could reach that bright star." The little girl said as she reached her hand out, as if reaching for the brightest star in the night sky.

"Do you want to get it?" The cloud asked.

The little girl nodded happily, "Absolutely!"

"Then let's try." The little girl jumped happily and they flew higher, higher, and higher.

Then suddenly, the cloud stopped.

"Why did you stop?"

"I can't fly any higher. I am sorry."

"Maybe I can jump to grab it." The little girl jumped, both arms held up high, trying to reach the bright star. She jumped, and jumped, and jumped, until she slipped and fell.

The little girl cried as she felt herself falling. She felt hurt and sad because she didn't get the star. When she saw that she is close to land, she closed her eyes tightly, waiting for the pain. But her eyes opened widely when a cold breeze blew her hair, and she was caught... caught by the cloud.

When she was laying on the cloud, she immediately hugged it and cried.

"Don't cry, little one. You may not have caught the star, but always remember that I am always here for you."

And so, the little girl learned that even though she can't reach the star that she wants, she is still lucky because there is a cloud that will always be beside her no matter what.
