She walked into the courtyard and saw Amunher and Prehir under a tree with her brother Tarik, they were chatting away, she tried to catch some of the conversation but they heard her footsteps and turned to her " did you get told off by old Khay then?" Prehir asked "yes" she looked away glumly tears still threatened and she didn't want to go into it. Amunher laughed "I wouldn't take him too seriously if I were you" Prehir saw that she was close to tears " please don't cry Khep" he said gently coming to put an arm around her, she gazed up at him feeling his closeness. Amunher still laughing suddenly looked at her mischievously "we have an idea that might just cheer you up" he winked while Tarik nodded enthusiastically. Khepri stepping away from Prehir looked at the three boys quizzically feeling a smile form on her lips, they always knew how to make her happy "what is it?" Amunher looked at his brother and Tarik whilst she almost jumped up and down in impatience "tell me" she grabbed Amunher's arm and looked up at him pleadingly, "Please" she fluttered her eyes at him, he chuckled "well our thoughts were hunting" she almost squealed in delight instantly brightening up "well that worked" Tarik said taking her hand together the four of them ran towards the stables.
Once the chariots were ready they made their way out of the palace. People had to jump out there way as they sped through the market square of Pi Ramesses. Khepri held on for dear life as Amunher sharply turned the chariot to avoid a cow who had stepped into their path, behind her she could hear the other chariots coming up fast. The citizens turned and looked but with the speed they were going she couldn't see their faces. They headed out of the city and towards the river Nile waiting for a vessel to carry them and the horses across the water to the ruined town of Avaris. Eventually reaching the other side they disembarked and charged through the streets in a whirl of dust, Khepri screamed in delight as she shared the chariot with Amunher "first one out of the city doesn't have to do there chores for a week" he cried to the other boys "you're on" Tarik cried back and Prehir nodded eagerly, flicking the horses reins to speed up his horses.
