They passed villages and towns passing the busy city of Memphis, watching all the fishing boats and ships carrying goods from all over Egypt and the land of Koush. All too soon the familiar site of Pi-Ramesses came into view. Khepri felt her nerves kick in.

She was to meet everyone again, everything had changed and everyone's lives had altered but she still felt the same. As the vessel drew into the Harbour alongside the other boats, she watched as merchants stood by the quayside unloading wares, everything was so bustling and full of life, she had missed this. The temple had been  quiet in comparison.

Ebony was shouting at the crew enthusiastically waving her arms around directing where Khepris belongings should go. The city seemed so alive as everyone was preparing for the Wag Festival in a days' time.

Khepri shut her eyes for a moment listening to all the sounds, the shouting, and the laughter and cries of various animals.

"My lady, my lady, shall we make our way to the palace, shall I call a litter?"

"No, I feel like I want to walk"

Ebony's face instantly fell into shock "But... My Lady... the palace is so far away" her eyes darting to the palace in the distance, shining like a golden gem in the afternoon sun.

Khepri smiled "I have missed this Eb, please can we walk? Even if it's half way"

giving her best smile she heard Ebony groan "Alright, fine. When you give me that look I can't say no"

Ebony directed the crew to take their belongings to the palace and announce their arrival. Khepri started walking watching the sights of the bustling city, remembering the chariot races that she and the prince's would often have, rushing through the streets.

She could see the ghost chariots flying past, a vision of herself terrified, holding onto her wig for dear life as she screamed and the two prince's laughed and her brother grinned from ear to ear as the chariots throw sand and dirt everywhere.

As she remembered she smiled to herself. Ebony walked next to her continuously moaning about the dust "Before you see anyone we will have to change your clothes and wig"

She started frowning "It would have been much quicker to take a chariot" still grumbling to herself her face growing slightly red.

Khepri grinned "Yes,but then we wouldn't get to see everyone prepare for the festival. Now stop moaning and just enjoy being back home"

"I swear my lady you shall be the death of me. My wrinkles are all because of you" with that Khepri laughed turning to her "What wrinkles, your still young Eb!"

Ebony didn't answer she just huffed as Khepri giggled taking Ebony's arm.

They came to the busy market that was full of the hustle and bustle of people and animals. Merchants from far away lands sold beautiful jewels and things that Khepri had never seen before. Pulling Ebony to one of the stalls that had caught her eye she found a beautiful trinket box, it was  solid gold with hierolyphs on the side-etched in black, a golden scarab beetle sat upon the top.

"Ebony isn't this lovely?"

"My Lady we don't have time for this. Your mawat and father will be wondering where you are!"

"Ah, my Lady that's such a good choice. You have a very fine eye for good quality items, my dear"

" The merchant said smiling, showing his missing teeth. "tell you what I can do you a deal if you like?"

"No thank you" Ebony interrupted grabbing Khepri she pulled her away roughly

"Wait Ebony  wanted that!"

"Like you need another one, besides I must get you to the palace no more dawdling that's it I am getting us a chariot and no arguing"

Ebony's eyes narrowed as she challenged Khepri with her eyes.

"Alright, Alright. Let's do it your way then"

Appeased Ebony's face instantly returned to being happy, now that she no longer had to walk. Soldiers appeared across the other side of the market as well as the familiar sight of her brother.

"Tarik" she cried rushing through the crowd of people towards the soldiers.

"Tarik" she cried again as her brothers figure became clearer as the sea of people departed.

Tarik who was with the other soldiers abruptly stopped  walking, turning towards the sound of her voice.  He smiled a beaming smile as she rushed into his arms. Taking in the familiar smell of him.

"Sister" he whispered close to her ear as he held onto her tightly.
