Chapter Eighteen

Noah sighs as he looks through his phone. He was super bored and his phone isn't helping. It was night so all of the contestants' were asleep by now, so he couldn't talk to Owen, Eva, or Izzy.

Chris and Chef are dealing with something that has to do with court again, so he can't talk to them.

He'd rather die than talk to Jose.

He groaned. He hates Jose right now. If it wasn't for him, Noah would be sound asleep right now.

"Keeping me up all night and day for some idiotic attempt of flirting. So stupid." He mutters to himself.

Then something popped up on his notifications.

Apparently, there's a meteor shower that will be going on that night. It only comes every few years so this is a good chance to see it.

Noah thinks for a moment. Obviously, he wants to go, but he doesn't want to go by himself.

That's when a thought hit him. Alejandro should still be awake, so why not invite him? It would be good for Noah to at least try and get on better terms with the taller male. So why not under a meteor shower?

He blushes at the thought and decides to go with it.

He gets up and starts getting ready for the meteor shower.

Once he was done he went down stairs and walked out into the main room.

"Hey, kid! Where are you heading off to?" Chris asks from the table.

Chef was sitting right beside Chris and they were working on some kind of paperwork. Noah didn't know what kind though.

"Oh, I was going to ask Alejandro if he wanted to see the meteor shower with me." Noah answers. He wasn't the slightest bit hesitant about telling Chris the truth. He knew that he could trust him. (Unlike with his real father.)

"Sounds nice, kid. But come here, Chef and I have to show you something." Chris says as he pats the seat in between him and Chef.

Noah doesn't think anything of it and sits in between the two after Chef moved to let him in.

Chris tells him to close his eyes. He listens to the host and closes them. He doesn't know why though. He can hear Chris and Chef moving around a bit until they both sit down.

"Go ahead kid. Open your eyes." Chef said.

Noah opens his eyes and looks down. He can feel a wave of emotions hit him when he does and he nearly starts crying.

There, on the table in front of him were, almost, officially signed adoption papers. For him.

Chris and Chef are close to adopting him.

Noah starts to cry and he can feel Chris and Chef give him a hug.

"We finally did it, kid. We got everything planned out and the papers signed. All we need now is you to sign the final forms and you'll officially be our kid." He hears Chris explain.

"When- when do I have to sign?" He asks through sobs.

"In a few days. We just thought to give you a heads up before we have you sign." Chef answers.

Noah hugs both of them back and continues to cry in their arms.

It was tears of joy and relief.

And that was something that he could admit.

After that's all done, Noah goes to the hotel to find Alejandro.

Luckily the eel was in the main room of the hotel, just reading.

"Alejandro," Noah says as he walks up to him.

Alejandro turns back in surprise. "Noah? What are you doing up this late?" He asks the shorter boy. He puts his book down and gives Noah his full attention.

"I wasn't tired and I saw that there was going to be a meteor shower tonight... and I wanted to know if you'd like to watch it with me." Noah explains as he tries to avoid Alejandro's gaze.

Alejandro blushes when Noah explains to him. "Yeah! Yeah, of course I'd want to watch it with you!" He answers as he stands up and walks closer to Noah.

Noah blushes more and smiles at Alejandro. He looks up and into the eyes of the taller man. "Al- alright! We can watch it at the top of the cliff. It doesn't start for another hour so we should have plenty of time to get stuff ready!"

"Okay, I can get some blankets and pillows." Alejandro answers with more of a blush.

"I'll get some snacks and drinks." Noah says before walking towards the kitchen.

Alejandro smiles at him then goes over to the closet to get some blankets and pillows.

After they got all their stuff, they went to the top of the cliff and started setting up.

It took an extra five minutes before they could relax and wait for the meteor shower. They talked about some stuff and laughed.

"Noah, I couldn't help but notice that your eyes are a bit red. Were you crying earlier?" Alejandro asks as he touches Noah's face with his palm.

Noah blushes then smiles. "Yeah, I was. I had just gotten news that Chris and Chef are going to be adopting me soon and I started to cry, I was so happy." He answers, putting his own palm on top of Alejandro's.

Alejandro smiles and pulls Noah into a hug. "Good. I'm happy for you." He looks up and sees that the meteor shower is staring. So, he lays down onto the blankets and pulls Noah closer to his chest.

Noah flushes and stares up at Alejandro then looks at the stars. He smiles and snuggles into Alejandro's chest.

Maybe, it is a good thing that he got to see the eel again.

That was something he could possibly admit.
