Leah's POV Today is the first match of the season and it's against Liverpool in the Emirates. Any game in the Emirates would have me buzzing but the feeling without y/n has me empty. I'm sat on my phone on the bus next to Lia, Kim and Jen. I'm aimlessly scrolling through Instagram when three pictures pop up on my feed.

She looks so happy without me... I feel the tears in my eyes and one rolls down my cheek. "Leah are you okay?" Kim asks and I just show her the pictures. "She looks so happy." I say. "Focus on the match Leah... y/n is just bonding with her teammates. Nothing to worry about she will be back." Jen says. I feel sick to my stomach as more tears begin to fall. "She's healing." Lia says. "I know but with Alexia." I say feeling my heart break but also jealousy rise within me.
y/n's POV WSL match day and we're all sat on Alexia and I's sofa watching all the games. By we I mean Keira, Lucy, Ona, Aitana, Alexia and I. The schedule for today was Manchester United vs. Aston Villa, Arsenal vs. Liverpool then Manchester City vs. West Ham. We watched the Manchester United match and I can't believe they've handed out a red card already at the start of the season. Kickoff starts for the Arsenal vs. Liverpool game and I watch the camera pan past Leah. "She's been crying." I whisper to Kei. "She misses you a lot." Keira says. "Well she was here but then she left without talking to me." I say. "She thinks she's not good enough." Keira says and I frown. "She's more than enough." I say. Arsenal was playing like absolute shit today. We maintained possession but the finished weren't clinical enough. We've had 18 shots but the majority of them were off target. Katie gets carded in the 45th minute. "Oh come on ref that's bullshit!" I say. Alexia and I are cuddled under a blanket and she grabs my hand gently. "Calm down, it's just an off day for them." She whispers to me quietly. In the 48th minute Liverpool scores. "MANU WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCKING SHIT YOU COULD'VE DIVED AND SAVED THAT!" I say getting up angrily. I can see the team getting frustrated and it's not helping that Leah has absolutely no confidence on the pitch today. The entire team looks pissed at one another. In the 82nd minute Liverpool breaks through and starts running to goal. I watch Leah approach and tackle the Liverpool forward nastily. It was an extremely dirty tackle. The ref comes over and pulls out a red card. "Jesus! That's her first red." Lucy says. "Shit..." I say. Leah's in the face of the ref arguing and the Liverpool players shove her. Leah shoved them back and Kim has to pull her away. I see Katie march over and she's fuming. I see Katie mouth to Leah "What the actual fuck Williamson are you fucking stupid!" Katie says grabbing Leah by the collar of her jersey. Leah shoves Katie and Katie pushes back. The team has to separate Leah and Katie as they argue. "They're not playing as a team." Ona says. "Leah needs to calm down." Aitana says. I watch Leah walk off the pitch and go down the tunnel. "What the actual fuck." Keira says. "That wasn't a red." After that the team fell apart and we lost 1-0 at the Emirates. I text Kim... y/nn - Kim can you check up on her please, she needs someone Kimmy💪 - I'm heading to the locker room now y/nn - Thank you
Leah's POV I walk off the pitch and head to the changing room. I get to my cubby and I punch the wall. "Fuck this!" I say angrily and I start crying. "Leah calm down." Kim says. "No Kim I can't. She's everywhere, everything reminds me of her and I miss her Kim!" I yell. Kim just wraps me in a hug as I cry. "It's okay Leah let it out, sometimes we have to break before we can heal." Kim says. "I just want her back. I want her to come home." I say softly. "But she looks so happy at Barcelona." "She just needs some time Leah, I have no doubt that she will come back home." Kim says.
y/n's POV We begin watching the Man City match vs. West Ham and by the first couple minutes I knew city was going to win. I'm worried about Leah though so I zoned out from watching the match. I snap out of my thoughts after who knows how long when the girls start yelling. "RED! THAT'S BULLSHIT!" Ona yells angrily. I see Leila getting carded by the referee and she's sent off the pitch. "Ona calm down." Alexia says. "I CAN'T MY GIRLFRIEND JUST GOT A RED CARD AND I AM NOT THERE FOR HER!" Ona yells. "Girlfriend?" Keira says confused. "Si, Ona and Leila have been together for six years." Ale says. Ona's phone buzzes and she checks her messages. "She broke up with me over text... she said she can't do long distance and she needs to focus on football." Ona says crying. Lucy gets up and hugs the smaller defender as she sobs uncontrollably. "I'm going to kill her." Ale says. "Leila is stupid for breaking up with Ona." Aitana says. "I think I'm going to go." Ona says crying. "I'm going back with Ona to the apartment." Aitana says. "Keira and I will walk you guys back." Lucy says. "Bye you two!" Keira says and the rest of the group buds us goodbye before leaving. Ale and I are now left alone on the couch. "What an eventful match day." I say. "Si, I feel bad for Ona... Leila threw away everything." Ale says. "Nobody hurts baby Ona and gets away with it. I'm going to have words with Leila the next time I see her." I say. "So what shall we do now?" Ale asks. "Cuddles and movies?" I ask shyly. Ale opens her arms and I cuddle into her side. She puts on The Lion King and Nala jumps on the couch and joins us. "Are you feeling better?" Alexia asks me quietly. "A bit... thank you for being here." I say. "I'll always be here for you y/n." Ale says.
