"Cassie!" Michel yelled from the front lawn. He jumped the gate, and ran at top speeds up to me. I was waiting on the front porch, rocking in a rocking chair alone in the desolate little patch of land.
"Michel!" I said standing up and taking a step to come towards him before he swooped me up in a giant hug. I hugged him back, patting his back and laughing like a giddy teenager.
"I was so scared" He said while holding my head in the hug.
"It's ok now" I said
"Tell me what happened" He said letting me go from our embrace.
"Just what you know I helped jacob find his soulmate and he let me go. He tried to get more from me but my powers are pretty useless." I didn't want to mention the fact that I also helped him in order to save Michel from Jacob's army.
"How many vampires were reset?" I asked curiously
"About 20" Michel said "we already have some volunteers to go out and search for them before they create chaos in society. They'll wake up hungry."
"That's not good" I said
He smiled down at me, taking my hand in his he lead me out of the garden and to the car on the other side of the fence.
"Let's get you out of here" he said scooping me up and hopping the tall metal bars.
"Where are we going now?" I asked
"Home" He said

I sat on my bed, watching the latest episode of a haunted house series. Munching on a cookie I watched as the experts tried to prove to me that ghosts are real.
"Michel" I called in my mind
"What is it love?" He asked me telepathically.
"Are ghosts real?" I asked
He let out a little laugh. "Really is that what your calling me for?"
"Your not busy are you?" I asked seriously.
"Only with the vampires searching out our brethren. It seems they've already found a few." He said
"That was fast" I countered.
"Not fast enough. Some people died before they took them under their wing. Luckily some have mates." He said
"A fresh baby vampire. Sounds terrifying." I mused.
"Many people died" He said seriously.
I shivered. Popping another bite of cookie in my mouth I continued to watch my show. Not really sure when I'd move out of my apartment I knew it had to be soon. I didn't want any uninvited guests.
"So are ghosts real?" I asked
He chuckled again.
"I don't see why they can't be. We know the soul exists." He said seriously
"But you soul is stuck on earth forever? Or will it ever go back to hell?" I asked "is there no way for it to be saved and go to heaven?"
"I'm not sure" He admitted "I think our place is on earth"
"That's sad" I said "I'd eventually like to go to heaven"
"You can't leave me" He laughed "were stuck together for eternity."
"You'll just have to do some more good deals to go to heaven" I teased
"Sorry love. There's no salvation for my soul. It was created for the dark." He said seriously
I leaned back on my bed, considering his words. Would his soul really never be saved? Would mine ever be or was I destined to go where he went.
"There are portals" Michel suddenly shot in my head.
"Ow?" I asked
"To hell" He said "I doubt you wanna take a day trip"
"Yeah I'm good to pass on that" I laughed "is that how demons come up?"
"Yes" he said "there usually remote places."
"Don't need to know more" I cut him off
"Now when are you going to help me move?" I shot at him
"I can come help you pack tonight." He said
"Come on over." I teased "I have refreshments"
I thought of Michel biting into my neck, the sweet euphuric release like none other. My core heated and my head was swimming with need. I could get addicted.
"I'll be there soon" He said seductively.
A shiver ran down my spine. Standing up, I started riffling through my many boxes lined up in the corner, getting the boxing tape out I started putting them together, getting ready for michel. I hummed to.myself as I put the boxes together, singing a tune Roy once did while cooking breakfast, the melody stuck in my head. Time escaped me as suddenly a knock came at the door. I opened it to reveal Michel, his handsome Visage wet from the rain.
"Come in" I said moving out of the way.
He smiled at me as he made his way inside, going straight to my little bed and sitting.
"You know you came to help pack" I said
"Just show me the way" He said
I opened all my drawers and one closet and we started packing away. I really didn't have much in the small apartment. I knew one day I'd have to go to Aaron's and get the rest of my stuff. With a bigger apartment I could finally take back my cat.
"Michel...." I said
"What is it?" He asked bewildered
"We have to get my cat at arrons" I said
His expression shifted to one of dismane. Crossing his arms in front of his chest, he said "How important is this cat?"
"I only didn't take her before because the apartment didn't allow pets but I want her." I said.
"And I assume you want me to go with you" He said
"I think you want to go" I said
"Of course I do" He said
"Then off we go to get my cat!" I said gleefully.

-----------------

Michel parked his car on the street, not wanting to draw attention, Aaron wasn't home. I pulled out my key, sneaking to the front door, I felt like a criminal.
"Here baby girl" I called
I spied my cat, laying on the window seal, she was sun bathing. I quickly made my way over to her but she got up and ran away.
Damn cat!
I chased after her, not wanting to put up with her bullshit.
"Cassie!" It was michels voice from the front entrance "aarons coming we have to get out"
"You have to get out! I almost got her" I said right as I scooped up the fluff ball.
The door opened loudly then, michel was beside me before I heard the sound, only noticing his presence as I stood up from crouching down to scoop up the cat.
"Cassie?" Aarons voice called "is that you?"
"It's me!" I called.
He walked around the kitchen and living room to spy me standing beside the stair case, holding baby girl.
"What are you doing here?" As he asked his eyes moved to michel and his expression changed to hostile.
"I'm taking my cat" I said
"Your apartment won't allow cats" He said hesitantly.
"I got a new one." I said
Michel was quite during the whole exchange only glaring at Aaron, like a guard dog ready to protect and bite.
"Can we tall in private?" Aaron asked
"We can talk here" I said with force in my voice.
Aaron glanced at Michel again before audibly swallowing.
"Very well then" He said "I got a lawyer. For the divorce"
"Good" I said, not wanting to admit I hadn't done the same yet. I guess I needed to get on that.
"Good" Aaron said and moved out of the way so me and Michel could walk past. My steps were quick and heavy as I made my way out of that wretched house, and away from the man I once loved.
