Niall's POV:
I knocked on the front door of what used to be my flat. It was really early and I was still trying to figure out a reason of why I was there; I just couldn't sleep anymore and wanted to hold my little girl. One of my favorite things to do now was cuddle up with Lilli and watch cartoons for hours on end with her.
Amber opened the door for me and I looked at her with a smile on my face. I still loved her, but it was a kind of love that's hard to put into words. Her beautiful, blue eyes begged me for an explaination through her glasses.
"I just couldn't sleep. I wanted to spend sometime with Lilli." I let myself in and saw Lilli with a suit case by her side; Liam was rolling one out of the bedroom as Lilli ran into my arms.
"Daddy!" I picked her up and held her. She looked so anxious to leave here, but why? I don't recall Amber ever telling me they were going anywhere. Where were they going right before Christmas?
"Niall," Amber wandered back into the kitchen to clean up the table, probably where Lilli ate her breakfast. "I told you last week that the three of us were flying out to spend Christmas with my family in America."
"I don't remember you telling me that." I sat Lilli up on the island and her legs dangled off the ledge, almost hitting the stool beneith it. "So what, I can't spend Christmas with my daughter now?" I was starting to get angry, but tried to control myself.
"Niall, you can't get mad about this." She got in my face and her voice got sharp. "I told you about this awhille ago and it's not my responsibility for you to remember. Lilli never gets to see my parents and they want to see her. And we want to go out there to tell them about the baby."
"But what about me spending time with my baby? She's the only one I have, Amber." Her hand still rested on her stomach and I let my voice whine a little; Lilli was starting to understand that we were fighting. Amber squeezed Liam's forearm and gave him a pleaing look.
"Hey, Lilli-Bear, why don't we get in the car? Mommy will meet us out there in a few minutes." He knew Amber better than I ever would've and I was jealous of that, a little. Once they were outside, Amber started to explain things to me a little more.
"We're flying back home on the thirtieth and you can take her for New Year's Eve, okay? Maybe go visit your parents?" She pulled on a jacket and ran her hand over my cheek.
"Okay," I filled my lungs with air and then released it, calming myself down. "Be careful, okay?" I wrapped my arms around her neck, and she burried her face in my chest; her arms were locked tightly around my waist.
She looked up at me, still in my arms, and I stared into her eyes. When I looked into those big, blue eyes, all our memories flashed before me. I saw her as a seventeen year old girl, doing anything and everything with me. I couldn't believe that the same girl I remembered was the twenty-seven year old woman that I was holding in my arms. She was still just as beautiful and I loved her just as much.
I couldnt' contain my emotions; I forced my mouth on hers and held her face in my hands. At first, I felt her trying to fight it, but after awhile, she just went with it. Her warm lips fit in mine like a puzzle piece once again. Her fingers played in my hair and I pulled her in as close as I could get her to my body.
I slipped my tongue through her lips and tried to fight all of the emotions flooding back. I hated betraying Gill and Liam like this, but just from the way this kiss was going, I knew it would stay between the two of us forever. This would also be the only time we'd ever do this, so I had to get all of my feelings out now.
When I kissed her, the world seemed to stop and time didn't really mean anything. We'd probably only been there for a minute or so, but it felt almost like days. I missed her kiss and everythign about her, but never realized it before. She pulled away and looked in my eyes; I saw the seventeen year old Amber that was forever mine.
"I have to go, Niall." She stood in front of me, unable to break our gaze. Her hand gripped my wrist, as if she was scared that the whole world knew what we just did. I felt amazing; like all the things bothering me have bene lifted off of my shoulders.
"Okay," She let go of me and started to walk towards the door, her backpack hung over her shoulder. "Be safe. I'll see you soon." She looked back and smiled at me and walked off to the car where Lilli and Liam have been waiting for her. I shut the front door and stood looking out at them drive away. As I waved, Liam honked the horn and with that, they were gone out of site.
I promised myself that from then on, I'd never think of Amber in that way again. I really liked Gill and wanted to be with her. I decided to text her to see if she wanted to meet up at the cinema to see a film this afternoon. As I brought my phone up out of my pocket, I looked down at my wrist only to find Amber's nails indented in my skin.
