Amber's POV:

-November 3rd-

It had been a little over two months since we brought Miracle home and life with her was hard. She demanded more attention then Lilli did when she was an infant; I hope this was normal. Liam and I butted heads a lot too when it came to parenting her.
I woke up and peaked in her nursery. Liam was fast asleep in the rocking chair next to her crib so I walked. I hovered above her sleeping soundly for the first time all night. Her little chest rose and fell inside her Cat in the Hat onesie Liam's mother bought her; it was adorable and brightened my sour mood a bit. I guess now it didn't matter since it was now seven o'clock in the morning.
After quietly slipping out of the nursery, I tip toed down the hall to Lilli's bedroom where she was laying wide awake, curled up in her floral covers. "What are you doing up so early, Angel?" I whispered to her from the doorway.
"I don't know." She mumbled into her pillow in a sad tone. Today wasn't exactly my favorite day, so I decided to cheer us both up.
"Why don't you come out in the kitchen with Momma? I'll make us some hot chocolate?" Her eyes widened a little and she hopped out of her bed and darted towards me. She really was my daughter; the word chocolate was mentioned and she would do anything for it.
I filled my mug and a smaller mug up with milk and sat them in the mircowave, setting it to warm them. I took out two packages of hot chocolate mix as Lilli's little fingers drew circles on the kitchen table. "So what's bothering you, Angel?"
"I don't know, Momma." She took a little sip of her hot chocolate and continued. "I just woke up today and felt sad." I knew exactly why she did, even if she didn't; even if she didn't understand why she felt sad.
"Momma isn't so happy today either. We'll do something today. See if Daddy will watch Miracle for Momma today? How's that sound?" I brushed her bedhead out of her face so I could gaze into her beautiful eyes; my heart sinking as I saw Ryan in them.
"If we're going to do something, I want Daddy to come with us." I looked at her strangely , wondering if she fully understood the meaning of having a sister. "Why can't Liam watch her?" My eyes grew real big.
"Why did yo-" I got cut off by a faint baby's cry coming from the nursery. Within seconds Liam walked out with our little girl in his arms. "Is she okay?"
"Yeah, she just woke up. Again." He sat down next to me and took a sip of my hot chocolate, letting his face twist and jerk as it slid down his throat. "Eh, could you make some coffee?"
"Sure." I slowly stood up and answered his demand like the little house wife I felt like now. "Lilli why don't you go and get changed so we can go out? I'll call Daddy and see what he's doing today?" Her face lit up at my words as she ran to her bedroom; it made me feel a little better to see her smile.
"You okay today, Love?" Liam asked me after I sat down, waiting on the coffee to brew. He really did forget what today was, didn't he? I just nodded and continued to sip my hot chocolate remembering my childhood days spent at my Mommom's house. We'd eat junk food and watch oldies television shows; it's the little things I missed the most.
Niall said he would pick Lilli and I up around eleven to take us out for the day. I got clean and threw on some comfy clothes; yoga leggings, a multi-colored baseball top, and a pair of light grey UGGS. I left my glasses on and tossed my hair up in a messy bun, not caring about how I looked in front of Niall.
"Hey, how's it going?" Lilli and I climbed into his car a little after eleven; he was taking us to a movie and then lunch afterwards. When we got there, we bought three tickets before Lilli took off for the blinking lights of a toy machine. I could see her so I let her go, knowing she'd be okay. "So what's wrong? I know you, and I know something's wrong."
"It's November third." His eyes softened and he leaned in to kiss my forehead. "It's been fifteen years today since they died."
"I'm sorry, Amber. If I could do anything, I'd bring them back for you." I intertwined my fingers with his and let a small, silent tear fall from my eyes. "Ya know what else happened today?"
"What?" I sniffed away my numerous tears; he was ignoring them kindly.
"Today, six years ago, we found out that Lilli was a girl." I looked up at him and smiled, knowing then in that moment how much he actually loved me. I knew how much I wanted to love him, but I had to think of Liam; I had to think of Miracle. I would never work.
"Momma, Daddy, please?" Lilli whined from across the cinema's lobby. I knew she liked what she saw; her Mommy and Daddy together at last. I couldn't stand to break her heart, so I let her believe that for the rest of the day.
