Liam's POV:

On Jess' birthday, we drove a few minutes down the road to her parent's house. I've only met Jess a few times, but Amber trusted and loved her more than anything; she said she was the sister she was supposed to be given. We walked up to the front door, and without even knocking, Amber busted through the door.

"Honey, I'm home!" She screamed as we heard a stampeed of people rushing to greet us. Jess' whole family was there, including her husband, Chris, and her twins, Anneliese and Audrey; they were two years younger than Lilli.

"Oh my gosh, I haven't seen you in forever! I missed you!" Jess choked Amber in a hug for several minutes; I was happy to see them reconnecting. We wandered into the living room and rested on the sofas while the girls played on the floor. "So what's the big news you had to tell us?"

We told them about our new baby and they had the same reaction as everyone else; they were thrilled. Jess insisted that we have a boy and Amber and her laughed, but I didn't really get it.

"When we were kids," Amber brushed her bangs out of her face. "We hoped that one day our kids would fall in love with each other. So if we have a boy either Anneliese or Audrey will have a future boyfriend." Jess leaned forward and ruffled Audrey's hair.

We chatted for awhile about meaningless things and then sang happy birthday to Jess. Her parents set out a small cake on the kitchen table and we all wished her a happy birthday; her and Amber were the same age now. Amber's face started to twist a little and I asked her what was wrong; she just said it was nothing.

She played with her cream colored cardigan and paced around the living room a lot; Jess was always one step behind her, trying to figure out what was wrong. Eventually, Jess pulled Amber's arm and drug her down the hallway and into a room.

"Our girls," Chris nudged my arm and we started to laugh. "So you're a new dad, huh?"

"Yeah, technically. Lilli is like my daughter, but she's not. I'm excited. Any advice?" I shoveled a fork full of cake into my mouth.

"Well, obviously, Lilli is doing pretty good and you were her father for four years of her life. Just keep doing what you're doing and all will turn out great." It was nice talking to someone who understood the things you were going through. The lads were always there to talk, but none of them, not even Niall, truly understands what I'm feeling right now.

"What!" I heard Jess scream at the top of her lungs from that back room; I wonder what was going on?

"Sounds like trouble?" Chris asked.

"I don't know, but they'll figure it out on their own." I didn't want to intrude on their conversation; maybe it was a private best friends thing they needed to discuss since they were in person. I don't know, but I was still very curious as to what was going on in that room.
