Liam's POV:

After my shower, I pulled on some sweatpants and got my things together for tonight. I always felt guilty and sick for meeting up with Danielle, but I couldn't bring myself to stop. This was out of character for me; I never thought I'd be the one to cheat in a relationship. And I wouldn't have cheated if I could find happiness in either of my situations, but I can't.

My suitcase was packed lightly for a four day visit. I was meeting up with her in Wolverhampton, as usual, and then we'd spend our time either out doing something or in her flat. Most of the times, we stay in her flat, trying not to be spotted by the press.

As I was almost done, I realized I left my phone downstairs in the kitchen. I jogged down to get it in just my sweatpants, whistling a chipper tune. When I reached the kitchen, my heart stopped beating in my chest and my breath became heavier.

Amber was sitting at the table under the dimmed kitchen lights with my phone in her hand. I saw her eyes were puffy and red with her mascara leaving black streaks down her flushed cheeks. She couldn't even look at me, nor I at her, so I took a seat across from her at our small, round table.

"How long?" She managed to mutter to me, in a low, hushed tone. I finally looked up and noticed her blue eyes were still transfixed on the phone screne, still unable to look at me.

"Since Grace and Finn's wedding." She pinched her eyes shut, tight, and bit down on her bottom lip as hard as she could. "About a month afterwards, I ran into her at the store and we started to reconnect. It just went from there."

We sat in silence for quite some time before her voice cracked through the stiff air, "Does this effect your relationship with Miracle?"

"Honey, it doesn't change anything about our family." I reached out for her hand, but she pulled it back as hard as she could before I could touch her. She shot her eyes beyond me and stared at a wall; probably at the picture or Lilli sitting on the sofa holding Miracle when we brought her to my parent's house.

"I don't care about our relationship right now, Liam." She groaned out at me, shaking her fists in the air like how she did when she was angry. "I care about whether this makes you love your daughter any less."

"Of course not. I love Miracle regardless of anything and everyone." I slammed my hand down on the table and raised my voice a bit. The air grew stagnant again and all you could hear was the sounds of our lungs working so hard to let air in and out of of chests. I stared at her, waiting for her to say something to me.

"I can't say anything to you." She locked my phone and put it down on the placemat. Her slender arms crossed in front of her chest with her elbows on the table. Her head shot up and her saddened eyes finally found mine. She took a deep breath, "I almost did the same thing with Niall back in December."

"I don't have a comment about that because I have no right to one." I whispered to her, feeling a pain in my chest, but knowing that that pain shouldn't be there. If I didn't want her to cheat on me, I shouldn't have cheated on her. The evening was progressing and before I knew it, the street lights shined in through the windows.

"So what do we do now?" We moved from the kitchen to the living room, sitting on opposite sofas. "We're both, obviously, not happy."

"We should wait to do anything. We'll discuss our options, though." My phone vibrated in her pocket so she opened it. Her face fell as she tossed it to me and rose to leave the room.

"She's wondering where you are." My eyes followed her back to the kitchen as she grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge. "You should go." With an acheing heart, I obeyed her command; I threw on a shirt and grabbed my suitcase from our bedroom.

"I'll be back on Monday." She was gathering up her purse adn keys, as well. I went to give her a hug, but she placed her hand on my chest and just shook her head. "Where you going?"

"I'm going to go pick up the girls and then come back here." We stood at the door, just staring at each other. We were unable to function with the mess that just became our lives. "So, uhm. Bye." And with that, she walked out to her car, where she sat for five minutes on her phone.

After she pulled out of the driveway, I lingered in my home for a few extra minutes. I texted Danielle letting her know I'd be leaving soon. I got a reply from who I thought was her, but it ended up being a text from Niall.

'Hey Mate. I just talked to Amber. She didn't explain much , but I'm glad you finally told her. She asked me to come stay the night and watch the girls. Ring me if you need me. - Nialler xx'
