(Gerard's POV)
Before I left for Pete's house I made sure to grab my summer backpack (which is just a small backpack full of various notebooks & writing materials) and made sure to yell at Mikey to stay out of my room. Mikey was a real easy guy to get along with, but I liked to fuck with him a bit because of brother privileges.
I didn't even bother to leave my room to set out for Pete's house, I just used my window. After countless sneaking out on school night incidents, it had just become habit. Pete only lived a few blocks away from where I lived, which was great because we were really close friends. In fact, a lot of my friends lived extremely close to me. If it wasn't me sneaking to their house, it was them sneaking to mine. I smiled thinking about it as I turned a corner. Now that it was summer, there'd be a lot less sneaking out. We were basically free to our own schedules, and from what Pete's texts implied, some cool mischief.
I finally made it to Pete's house & knocked on the door. I yawned as the door opened and I was greeted by Patrick.
"Hey Gerard!" Patrick smiled. He was wearing the same batman shirt as I was and some black pajama pants.
"Hey!" I smiled back. "You know, one of us is going to have to change," I laughed as he let me inside, "cuz I share my looks with no one."
"Oh yea, cuz you're so original G." Pete said walking into the room with messy hair and a smile. He gave me a hug then looked between Patrick and I. "I think you pull it off nice 'Trick. Although that's not the only thing you can pull off..."
Patrick's face flushed a deep shade of pink while I stifled a giggle.
Although they weren't officially a thing, their constant flirting was adorable.
Patrick disappeared and Pete ushered me to follow him to his room.
"So what's this really cool thing you have to show me?" I asked, sitting on the small couch he somehow managed to fit in his small room.
"I would show you, but you're early. We've gotta wait for Andy, Brendon, and Joe to get here." Pete finished his thought and ran for closet.
"No Ryan, Dallon, or Spencer?" I asked, sliding off my backpack and laying across the couch.
"Dallon is with his grandma, Spence is out of the country doing some cool shit and Ryan is MIA. So probably sleeping or with someone doing something." Pete said, still digging into the closet with the occasional swear being thrown out every once in awhile.
I watched Pete dig deeper and deeper into his closet until Patrick came in. He laughed at the sight of Pete.
"Be careful, we might need a search and rescue team to get you out." Patrick teased, sitting on Pete's bed watching in amusement.
"I like to go deep!" Pete yelled out, making Patrick blush again.
It was about noon before the others showed up and Pete found what he was looking for buried in his closet (with a triumphant UREKA! I might add).
"I am out of bed before 1 for you, whatdoyagot?" Brendon asked, immediately running to the bed as soon as he entered Pete's room.
I sat up & let Andy and Joe slide next to me.
"Tell us the cool thing." Andy added.
"I'm dying to know!" Joe laughed.
"Oh just you wait." Pete grinned, "You may not know it yet, but fantastic pun Joe." Pete reached under his bed where he had put the box from his closet.
Patrick and Brendon both leaned in, but Pete sheilded it until he was sure everyone could see.
"Behold!" He eagerly held up the box for everyone. It was a Ouija board. The box was super dusty but the name of the game could still be made out.
"Where'd you find one!?" Brendon asked excitedly, jumping across Patrick and nearly kneeing him in the nuts in the process.
"My grandpa's old stuff in the attic." Pete grinned, "swears he got it from an old Gypsy that said it's legit. So I thought we should play..."
"Dude yes." Brendon jumped on the opportunity.
"Dude no!" Patrick objected.
"I don't want to be haunted and shit." Joe added to Patrick's argument.
"Eh...cool." Andy shrugged, "Gerard? What do you think?"
I was looking intently at the box and jumped slightly at the mention of my name. "hu? Oh..." It seemed...interesting. Definitely up my ally on weird. Always kinda wanted to try...
"Hell yea." I grinned. Pete jumped excitedly.
"We've gotta play! Are you sure you're out 'Trick? Think of all the things we could ask!"
Patrick shook his head no. "I don't want to risk it." Patrick said firmly. "Joe and I are out. Whenever you guys play that is."
"We're not gunna play it here are we?" Brendon asked, "Your bedroom isn't nearly creepy enough Pete. I mean maybe your mom's sex dungeon but not here." Brendon jumped out of the way to dodge Pete's fist with a giggle.
"I'd rather not see your mom's sex dungeon." Andy giggled, receiving a death look from Pete.
I spoke up next. "You want creepy?" I asked. After everyone nodded I gave my suggestion. "Back road cemetery." I said with a grin.
Pete's eyes grew wide. "PERFECT. Gerard Way you brilliant man. I vote yes!"
"DITTO!" Brendon shouted, raising his hand like we were in school.
"Sure!" Andy laughed.
"Settled! Tonight! Then after we can crash at your place G since it's closest." Pete suggested.
"And you have cable." Brendon added.
"Sounds good." I laughed. This was insane. We were not only sneaking out tonight, but sneaking out to play a game in a cemetery. Is it weird how genuinely excited I was?
