I sighed as I closed my laptop. I didn't want to look at my paper right now. It was too overwhelming. I folded my arms and rested them on my laptop, then rested my head on my arms. I used to be able to do way more work than this in high school, so why was I complaining so much now? I felt lazy and I didn't like that, but the tiredness wouldn't go away.My break was interrupted by a knock on my door. "Come in!" I called out to Taylor.
"You good?" She asked as she opened the door.
"Yeah. Just tired. I don't wanna write my paper." I groaned. "Can you write it for me? You're good at writing." I lifted my head and gave her my puppy eyes.
"Nice try. You're cute but I hate writing papers too." She playfully rolled her eyes.
"Why you gotta be so mean?" I sang to her.
"You need to stop using that song against me," Taylor shook her head while chuckling. "Anyways, I need to talk to you about something." She suddenly became serious and sat on my bed.
"Everything okay?" I asked, worried that something had happened.
"Oh yeah. It's nothing bad." She gave me a small smile. She still looked nervous though. "I'm not sure if you've seen the things on the internet but-"
"You banned social media from my phone," I cut her off, giving her an unhappy look.
"I saw you tag team with Miles and tweet cryptic things," Taylor raised her eyebrows at me.
"It was just for that, nothing else! I didn't look through anything." Taylor gave me a look that most definitely meant 'I don't believe you' but she continued anyway.
"We'll talk about that later. I'll just get to the point. I'm dating someone and I want you to meet him." She paused to see my reaction and nervously smiled at me as she waited for me to say something. It took me a few seconds to process what I had just heard.
"You're what?" I screamed and jumped up from my chair. "Dating? Who? Since when? What?" I jumped onto my bed next to her and looked up at her.
"His name is Travis. Travis Kelce. He plays for the Kansas City Chiefs." She said.
"What's that?" I cocked my head to the right in confusion.
"The Chiefs? It's a football team." She explained. "I can't believe you grew up not knowing football. Are you really a Swift?" Taylor said in disbelief.
"I don't take interest in men throwing weird shaped balls around and tackling each other," I rolled my eyes.
"It's so fun if you really understand it," Taylor said.
"When did you guys start dating?" I got back to business.
"Three days ago. But we've been talking and seeing each other for a few weeks now." I could see her blushing.
"How did you guys even meet? You're literally an Eagles fan. And what happened to 'in your life you'll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team'?" I continued to interrogate her.
"I was in high school!" She defended herself before explaining the situation to me. "Him and his brother Jason have a podcast together. Travis went to my show in Kansas City and was bummed out that he couldn't give me a friendship bracelet with his number on it, and they talked about it on their podcast. That clip went viral and Tree sent it to me so I was like 'why not' and had her get in contact with Travis and get his number."
