It was more than a few people.
Turns out Shelly had gotten a bit overexcited by the fact that One Direction were going to be at her party, letting the whole of her friends list know on facebook.
And Shelly had over 1000 friends on facebook, not to mention people they had told, and so on.
By the time I arrived, the party had barely begun and there was already about 150 people here.
She was beyond lucky her parents had gone away. Plus, she was definitely well off, given her house had about three stories to it. Definitely room to fit everyone, I hoped.
“There you are!” She had run at me and pulled me into a fierce hug when I arrived, looking anxious. “I did not expect this many people to come. I don’t even know who half these people are, isn’t it fantastic?! Shit you look so good!”
She said all this rather quickly, leaving me politely nodding. I had actually put a lot of effort into my outfit, opting for something more edgy I had bought last year sometime, consisting of black leather shorts and a short Rolling Stones jumper.
“Are they here yet? Did they come with you?” She asked excitedly, looking out behind me.
“Err no, not yet.” I answered, following her inside. I was praying they had already turned up. Niall had texted me about half an hour ago saying that they were ten minutes away.
What if he doesn’t turn up...
I dismissed that idea quickly and followed Shelly to a group of her friends, all of them hugging me.
“You’re Elli! It’s so cool you’re bringing One Direction here tonight.” One of them exclaimed, a bottle of vodka in her hands.
“Yeah, thanks I think.” I mumbled, sitting myself down on one of the couches. People kept coming up to me and talking, but I can’t remember a majority of what they said.
I was worried.
It had been over half an hour since I’d arrived, but Niall still wasn’t here. Shelly too looked anxious, though she was a lot more pissed off than I was.
“Where the hell are they?” She hissed in my ear at one point, obviously trying hard not to freak out. “I’ve told everyone that One Direction are going to be here, do you realize how bad it looks on me if they don’t show up?!”
She was right, people were starting to ask questions. They kept shooting looks in my direction, as though to blame me that they had all been stood up.
And there were at least 500 people here now, leaving a lot more pressure on my shoulders.
“Look, I’ll call them okay?” I answered, picking myself up from the couch and wandering through the crowd of people and out the front door. There were more people out here still, running around with various types of alcohol, even a girl vomiting in the rose bushes.
Lovely.
Just as I was about to make the call, I felt a hand on my shoulder.
“Elli!”
I quickly flipped around to see Harry, shocking me completely.
“Hey!” I exclaimed, letting him pull me into a hug. “Jesus finally, everyone’s been asking about you guys.”
Harry grinned, folding his arms and leaning against the doorpost.
“And there definitely isn’t a shortage of people. How many are here anyway?” He asked, looking a little worried from the amount of noise that was coming from inside.
