"DON'T answer it!" I hiss, throwing a hand over Niall's mouth and bending down till I can see underneath the crack in the door. It's pointless, I can't see anything.
Niall picks himself up and gives me his hand, which I take hesitantly.
"It's only Paul, he told me he was coming up." He explains, sitting me down on the bed carefully and helping me get dressed in some clothes I had brought up with me. I keep Niall's shirt on, I can't seem to remove it at this point. Once we are both decent, Niall wanders over to the door and opens it, my fears diminished when Paul walks in.
"Ready to go?" He asks, looking stressed and angry. He's on his phone, obviously frantically trying to explain the situation to someone. I've caused so much hassle, none of this would have happened if I had have just stayed away from Niall.
"Where are we going?" I ask quietly, not moving from the bed. Niall bends down and takes both my hands in his, his expression wary.
"The others are staying in a hotel a few miles away. We can go there, at least for tonight." Niall hugs me for a while, with Paul still on the phone standing in the doorway. "Everything's going to be fine, I promise." He whispers into my ear, one hand entangled in my hair. I nod my head fiercely to agree with him, but I know that it's not going to be okay. Everything is a mess.
We leave the hotel as fast as possible, with Paul and two other guards sticking to me like glue. My expression is empty and stony, and I am expecting somebody to jump out and kill me at any moment.
If they don't catch this guy, then how on earth am I ever going to sleep at night? I really thought I'd gotten away from him. That night at the club, I had convinced myself that I was seeing things, that there was no way he could have found me.
But he has. So what the fuck do I do now?
As we get to the lobby, Paul gets off his phone and turns to me, looking halfway between feeling happy and wanting to scream.
"They got him." He puts simply, and everyone stops. Niall tightens his grip on my hand, looking up to Paul.
"Are you certain?" He asks, pulling me into him as I have started to shake. Paul nods his head.
"That was Damien on the phone. He saw the guy who stabbed him with his own eyes, the cops have got him in custody now." Then Paul turns to me, exhales deeply.
"How would you feel if we made a quick detour?" He asks, looking as though he regretted it. Niall himself lashes out.
"You're fucking kidding right?" He exclaims, shaking his head violently. I fold my arms and frown.
"What's going on?" I ask, completely confused. Paul runs a hand on his head, looking upset.
"If we went to the station then you can identify him. We can make sure we've got the right guy."
"No." Niall puts definitely, tightening his grip around me. "We're not going."
"I'll do it."
I don't think anyone is more shocked than me at this point, despite the looks of insanity they give me. Did I just say that I will go and face the man who killed my parents?
I think I did...
"You don't have to do this Elli." Niall whispers, rubbing my shoulder. I look at him properly for the first time since I found out this man was following me. Niall's blue eyes are clouded with concern and fear, his mouth slightly agape in protest. I can bet this isn't how he intended for our night to turn out, yet he still hasn't ditched me. He's stuck by me through thick and thin, the least I can do is give him some closure.
