Bitch, push me one more time and I will punch you in your little face, okay?”
I knew something like this would happen. I don’t know why I had let Taylor talk me into this in the first place. Somehow, he had convinced me it was a really romantic idea to go to a One Direction signing without telling Niall, then inviting him to the dance.
Now, Taylor was about to get into a punch on with a nine year old, whose mother was looking less than impressed with us.
“Taylor chill out!” I exclaimed, laughing nervously as I pulled him away from the little girl, who was sporting a One Direction shirt. “He’s just a bit over excited.” I shrugged and said to the mother, who pulled her daughter away quickly, looking at Taylor's tie dye shirt and nose stud with disgust. I felt a little bad because I really wanted to bring Lucy with me today. She had gone back to school recently and I hadn’t seen her in a while. But her nanny had said no, since she didn’t want a little girl under her care within the company of a ‘celebrity’. If I’m a celebrity, then the sun is blue.
“Elli, she kicked me in the back of the ankle, do you really expect me to stand for that?” Taylor grimaced, pulling out his phone most likely to text Tony how pissed off he was at the young girl.
“Seriously, these bitches need to be put into line.” He continued, looking around to the screaming girls, most of which were crying.
“They’re just happy, you old grump.” I threw an arm around his shoulder, pulling the panda beanie I was wearing lower on my head and pushing up my dark glasses. Most of the people hadn’t recognized me, but for the few who had, I had put on a British accent and pretended I was simply a fan, who happened to resemble Elli Nichols.
“Yeah well, there’s happy and then there’s psychotic.” Taylor mumbled, putting his phone away and folding his arms. “Anyway, rehearse to me what you’re going to say again!” Taylor claps his hands, standing in front of me. I laugh, shaking my head.
“Alright. Hey Niall! It would be so sick if you would come to my school dance with me!”
I heard some girls in front of my smirk when they look at me, one of them muttering ‘Yeah, right.’
Taylor grins, signalling for me to keep going. I grin.
“Then I get on my knees and beg for him to come.” I say dramatically to spite the girls, and Taylor breaks down into a fit of laughter.
“That sounds so dirty.” He chokes out through giggles, and I clasp a hand over his mouth to defer attention away from us.
“You dirty fuck.” I giggle, sighing and crossing my arms.
We’re nearly at the front now, and I’m starting to think this is a kind of bad idea. I can see the boys and they are only spending five seconds maximum with each fan. The worst thing would be if Niall doesn’t recognise me, I’m praying that doesn’t happen.
But my worst fears are diminished when I am a metre or so away from the front. I watch Niall look up and smile to the crowd, and then his eyes turn to me. And I watch him grin widely and shake his head, giving me a wave and nudging Liam next to him. As expected, the row of girls in front of me turn around and look at me, and it’s then they start freaking out.
“Oh my God it’s Elli! She’s been behind us this whole time!!!” One girl screams, pointing at me like I’m some kind of mutant creature.
“Shhh!” I insist, looking around to see how many people have recognized me now. Which is a lot.
But luckily Taylor and I have made it to the front of the line, and Niall has caught on to my act.
“Well hi there love, what’s your name?” He asks me, and Taylor rolls his eyes, grinning.
