Three months later,
Bucky was getting ready for college graduation when Susie came over.
"Hey Susie Q..you look beautiful." He said as he kissed her.
"Hey we need to talk." She said as she sat on his bed.
"We don't have much time baby but go ahead." He said as he sat down beside her.
She let out a breathe. "I'm pregnant." She said as she produced pee sticks from her purse.
He swallowed hard as he saw them, and he looked down.
"Can we talk about this after graduation? So I have time to process." He said
"Yeah.." she said as she put the sticks back in her purse.
A few days later Bucky took Susie out to dinner at the Black Cypress restaurant. They enjoyed a nice meal and dessert. While they finished dessert Bucky scooted his chair closer.
"Susie I um I love you. And um you know that this wasn't suppose to turn into a relationship but it did. And um..well um will you marry me?" He said as he opened up a ring box.
"Buck you um I um yes. But you know that you didn't have to do this just because.." she said as he slid the ring on her finger.
"I know but I want to Susie." He said as he kissed her.
A few days later they had their first appointment and it made them both excited. When they announced their engagement and the baby news. James was relieved cause he thought this meant his son was finally growing up.
