Hoseok's POV

"I can't believe Christmas break is over!"

Taehyung rolls his suitcase into the house thirty minutes later than the rest of us. He was determined to lay flat on our front yard, claiming he missed our grass.

He jumps onto the couch, ignoring Jin's scolding for doing so.

"I'm so happy we all got to see our families." He beams. "Aren't you guys?"

"Yeah," Jin seethes, "but I'd be even happier if you got off of my couch with your fucking shoes."

"Aye, aye, captain," Taehyung chirps.

Jungkook emerges from the garage, eyes on his phone until he hears Taehyung. Distracted, it takes him a moment to look up, but once he does, he quickens his pace toward him. He pats Taehyung's back, leaning in closer to his side.

"Taehyung," he starts, his voice low. "Have you heard from her?"

"Hm..." Taehyung thinks about this. "I haven't checked my phone since we left the plane. You can grab it and check if you want."

Jungkook retrieves it from Taehyung's back pocket, following the latter to his room upstairs.

"Nothing," he mutters. "She hasn't responded."

I catch sight of his worried expression.

"What if something happened to her?" he presses.

"I'm sure she's fine," Taehyung reassures, struggling with his suitcase. "We'll call her again once we get to my room."

As they disappear upstairs, my brows furrow. With my suitcase in hand, I follow behind them.

I've barely arrived at Taehyung's bedroom door when his yelling reaches my ears.

"Riya!"

My ears perk up at the mention of her name, and I move to further investigate.

"Where have you been?" Taehyung screeches into his phone, one hand on his hip and the other pointing at her face on Facetime. "We've been texting and calling non-stop for almost a week! Seic and Chansoo said you were fine, but you weren't responding to us!"

"I'm sorry," her response is placid. Timid. "After all my debut interviews and stages, Seic said I could go home for Christmas."

"Are you back? You have to come over," he demands. "We all just got back from Christmas break too." He backtracks, "Why didn't you let us know where you were? We were getting worried."

"My parents don't have Wi-Fi. They're old-school."

"Ahh, that makes sense."

Jungkook takes the phone from him, wondering, "Are you back yet?"

"Oh, hi, Kook."

"Hey." His voice is uncharacteristically soft. "Did you have fun on your vacation?"

"Yeah. I'm actually in a hotel waiting for my plane."

"How long do you have?"

"A few hours until the plane arrives," she reveals. "I should be back tonight."

"I'll come pick you up."

"No, it's—no, it's really okay, you don't have to—"

"I want to," he says, Taehyung loving this idea.

The latter beams, insisting, "We can have a reunion tonight!"

"Oh," Riya stammers. "I'm pretty tired, and I don't want to stress anyone out. I can just take an Uber."
