Dear Riya,

hi! it's me!! I'm you from the future, so you won't really see this, but maybe you will. i'm starting to realize the world works in weird ways. 

we escaped from mom and dad and dad's friends! we escaped from someone else, but you don't have to worry about him. i took care of him. my friends helped me. you're going to really like my friends. they'll be yours so soon, okay? before you even know it, i promise! you're going to blink, and one day, you're going to know the best people in the entire world.

and i know you're not really into men right now, but trust me, Riya. there's going to be someone you meet who is going to make you forgive the world. everything will fall away when you're with him. he makes life stop hurting.

well, i'm not sure if this is against the rules of the universe if i tell you this, so i hope the universe doesn't mind, but his name is Jungkook. Just remember that name, okay? when everything is really dark and scary, and the doors are locked, just remember his name. Someday, he'll rock us when we're scared.

and your friends!!! oh Riya!!! they're so amazing! you're going to have so much fun! and oh! you even get a birthday party! it's the best. i won't spoil it because it just has to be a surprise! i'm sure my friends would get all pouty if you knew somehow.

i just love you so much, Riya! Okay? never forget that! and i know you love me too because i'm here writing this to you. you let me grow up. thank you for being brave enough to grow up in a house that was suppose to suffocate you because i'm here now. We're here now. we must've had a air tank to survive that house or something, huh? 

Ahhhh! Jungkook just came in my room!! i wonder if you can tell. i don't know, sorry, i told you i don't know how this works! oh, he's trying to read my letter to you, but i won't let him!!! 

okay, i'm back!! he started tickling me when i hid my paper. he gave me kisses too!!! he's the best!!

oh, and Riya! you're the best too. hang in there. you don't tell yourself this a lot, but you're very brave and strong and smart! I promise!

Riya's POV

"This is the best day of my life!" I laugh, sputtering on the water surrounding me. The sun shines down on me, caressing my skin as the wind ripples through my hair. "Pricca, you have to come in!"

She stands next to Platinum, looking unsure. She hesitates, wondering, "Is it cold?"

"Uh, yeah," Taehyung says on his way past her. "It's supposed to be cold. It's like, 95 degrees outside if you haven't noticed."

Pricca looks at me, pointing to Taehyung like, 'get him under control'. 

I grin. "Sorry, he can't be tamed. Hoseok's tried."

From across the lake, Hoseok hollers, "Damn right!"

Platinum chuckles as she comes up behind Pricca, giving the top of her shoulder a gentle squeeze. She whispers something, her lips brushing up against the side of Pricca's head as she does, and Pricca visibly softens.
