Riya's POV

"I highly suggest they testify for your case," my lawyer tells me. "They were around you when Chansoo was. It would look great for your case."

I gnaw on my bottom lip. "They would have to see the footage."

"I understand how that might be uncomfortable, but would you rather the discomfort of that, or the discomfort of Chansoo winning?"

"But isn't the video itself evidence enough?"

"It's always good to have people who testify with you, video or not," she explains. "As I said, the were around you when he was.." She fixes the cuffs of her sleeve. "They're your friends. They won't look at you any differently."

I hesitate, but before I can speak, she continues, "Think about it, okay? We have a little over a week left."

"She will," Seic responds when I don't. "We'll talk to you on Thursday, thank you, Dae."

Once we're both in the hallway, he pats my shoulder.

"You need to realize that your friends won't care about the footage. They care about you." We step into the elevator. "Put your fear aside, and let them help you win."

I inspect the elevator walls.

"Think about it." He pushes the floor button. "Less than two weeks away now."

I think about it too much on the drive to my apartment. I wish I could think about anything else.

I grab my rehearsal clothes and head back out to the studio. I'm going to dance until all I can think about is my next spin.

"I'm fine," I tell Hoseok brightly.

He and Taehyung inspect the rehearsal room.

"Just you tonight?" he questions.

"Yeah." I nod quickly, my face flushed and my chest rising and falling rapidly. "Just me. I'm practicing."

Taehyung leans against the wall. "Need some company? I'm sure it's lonely."

"I'm not lonely." I laugh awkwardly. "I like solo practices. They give me time to think."

"Right, well, we could hang around until you're done," he responds. "We can go grab a bite, the three of us."

I toy with the ruffles on my shirt. "Where would we go?"

"Where do you want to go?" Hoseok asks. "We don't mind where."

My tilt my head from side to side to relieve the building tension.

"I'm going to practice for a while," I reveal.

"We can wait." He motions to the lobby. "We're good with waiting."

I look between them both. "You'll both fight each other to death in there."

"Not to death," Taehyung refutes. "Just close enough."

I think of sitting alone on my living room rug. I nod. "Okay, but I'll pay."

"Aw, how cute," Taehyung coos, throwing an arm around Hoseok to guide him toward the lobby. "She thinks we're going to let her pay."

I look after their retreating figures, calling after them, "I can pay."

"You can," Taehyung starts, and Hoseok concludes, "But you won't."

"I will," I persist, glancing at the time. "Give me half an hour."

"Sure," Taehyung sing-songs, and they joke with each other until the doors close behind them.
