Steven Universe was currently living one of the single best moments that could've ever been recorded in history, much less his life.

Catty, bold, driven Student Government President Connie Maheswaren was laying, cuddling on his chest and practically purring like a little kitten. A feral one maybe, but a kitten nonetheless.

He tried to refocus on the movie as the two bickered at the business meeting that they both really didn't want to be at but they were chosen to go together, so go together they shall.

She felt so soft and sweet against him. So innocent and perfect that he wanted to burst into flames every time he peeked down at her. Even when she scoffed at the male protagonist slapping the females bottom and heartlessly whispered, "Report his ass to HR. Then you'll definitely get the promotion. Maybe a nice check, too."

He couldn't help but find her sensational and magnificent when she grunted at the kiss Ryder stole before their next report and Steven realized his gem was flickering. He was so happy he couldn't even be bothered to try to compose himself, he knew it wouldn't have worked anyhow.

Steven grew sad when Ryder showed up at Lindas apartment to say goodbye and they parted ways, because Ryder got the huge promotion and she didn't. He got into the limo and looked back at her longingly through the dark window, watching as he drove off into the night.

The sky rumbled and it started pouring. She realized she loved him a moment too late and tears rolled down her face as she sobbed. She had been about to pull herself together and go back inside, but a light out of the corner of her eye caught her attention and she saw the limo circling back, tires screeching against the street.

Ryder jumped out of it while it was still rolling to a stop, nearly slipping in a puddle and ruining his dress shoes. He paused and then ran to her, and she ran to him and they shared a passionate kiss in the rain as the music swelled.

Steven smiled and cried. He always cried at love, even staged love because he loved love and the movie ended with them going back inside Linda's building, hand in hand.

He looked down at Connie and ran a finger over her cheek. "You're crying," He said in awe. He caught another tear on his thumb with round eyes and she sat up.

"No, I'm not!" She scrubbed her face with embarrassment. "My eyes are just dry from the climate change!"

"The... the climate change?" He raised an eyebrow and she nodded like that was a perfectly reasonable explanation.

"Yes, the climate change," She said quietly.

He burst out laughing, the sound slightly amplified in the empty theater as she wrapped her arms around herself defensively.

"You're crying, too," She muttered.

"I always cry at sappy movies." He smiled from ear to ear and pulled her in, unable to stop himself from kissing her. She was perfect, and he didn't bother with a peck. He locked their lips, rubbing the remainder of tears off of her face.

She tensed, a small squeak escaping through her and he pulled away after a moment. It was incredible, he tried to get himself to stop shaking and accidentally starting to float off of the ground.

Everything he had ever wanted had compiled into this exact moment, and through all of the bliss he was terrified.

"Let's go home, Ni." He could hear the adoration in his voice. She just nodded, letting him pull her up with no resistance.

It was pouring rain outside and he pulled her close again for another kiss in the movie rain. The water ran between them and her hair got stringy and wavy but she didn't tense this time. She leaned up onto her tip toes and deepened it just an iota, placing her hands on his chest. He picked her up, setting her on the railing and deepened it some more.
