"Another party?" Louis asks. "Yeah she does this every month. Chooses two days and has a party two nights in a row."
"Oh." I nudge his arm. "Did you wanna go?" He shrugs. "Keeps me away from my dad."
"That's the spirit. I need to go see Luna for like an hour but once I get back we can go buy more stuff like yesterday. I'll be back."
"I think I'm gonna stay with- Nina. Help her out." What do I do now? "Oh, okay. Yeah no that's fine. I'll- see you later then. I guess."
"Yeah." I grab my board saying my goodbyes before leaving. "Call me if you get lost."
"Always." Luna wanted to meet me and I wasn't sure why. She seemed pretty excited.
"Okay I'm here what's happening? What's the news." She was very jumpy. "We went on a date. It was very difficult to keep my mouth shut the whole time but then we got to the movies and I was frozen the whole time."
"I heard she was a little late." She nods. "She was getting gas but she kissed me, with people around. It was a crazy experience. I loved it."
"Oh that's good." She pouts. "What's wrong? You're not as jumpy today."
"Louis' being weird. He's fine one minute but then the next he's just sort of distant. Like he's scared of being around me. He gets really upset and angry."
"Ask him about it." I scoff. "I tried. He didn't say anything to me he just said he was fine."
"Maybe he just needs to have sex." She had a point, but I doubted it. "Maybe. Okay so second date. What do you have planned?"
"Not sure I'll let you know when I figure it out. I do have to go because my mom needs me home right now." She kisses my cheek running off. "Call me!"
"I will!" I went back home after about five minutes of just sitting in silence.
I got a little bored of it and just left.
But when I got back Louis was still just as distant with me. "Have I done something?"
"No. I'm tired." Something didn't add up. "I just need to know if I've done anything. I want to fix it." He turns to me. "I'll let you know if you ever royally fuck up."
"Thanks. Really need the reassurance." He laughs. "I-" she always manages to call when I'm in the middle of talking it's annoying.
"Hold that. I want to know okay." He nods. "If you say so."
"Hey what up?...
She likes ice skating?...
Yeah cause it's cold...
Okay cool- ha! Sorry. So ice skating? Is that like a date or just a day...
It's a date...
Are you lying to me?...
Why would I do that?...
Cause you're a guy...
Fair enough. No it's a date I promise. Book it for tomorrow though it's cold tomorrow...
How do you know so much?...
I just do...
I'll keep you updated on it afterwards, have fun with your boyfriend that's not into boys...
Ha so funny, I'm not paying for this one...
Fine, I have money...
Yeah okay and the other dates? What about those?...
Whatever, okay bye love ya...
Mhm.""Sorry. Okay carry on." He shrugs. "It's fine. Don't worry about it."
"No talk to me. She always calls at stupid times it's annoying." He nods. "It's fine though. Is she coming tonight?"
"No I think she's busy with her mum. Said she's got some weird Christmas thing she has to search for. I'm not sure."
"You're not gonna help her find it?" He laughs. "No fuck that. I wanna be here. Her mother is crazy I'm not sure I could handle it."
"You don't like her mum?" Don't like is an understatement. "No, no I do not." But the word I want to use is unkind. "You don't think that's an important thing to have?"
"Not really I mean I don't she likes me either so it's cool. She likes Willow though which is annoying cause I told her what to say. So really she likes me."
"Willow? Curtis?" I nod. "Yeah they're friends." I'm getting better at lying about it. "Weird."
"They're cute though. Got a lot in common. Except they also don't so it's impossible." I never really imagined myself helping form a relationship between someone that liked me and someone I've been threatened by.
It seems so weird.
He looked like he was in pain. Or like he had the biggest secret in the world. "What's wrong?" He shrugged. "Not sure."
I didn't want to make the first move, third move? I wasn't sure but I couldn't do it. I wanted him to.
I knew who I liked and he knew what I wanted so I was just waiting for him to figure himself out before he was ready.
We'd gotten separated for a few hours, setting things up in different rooms and having different jobs to do. "He seems sad." Nina whispers. "I was thinking the same."
"He's not as clingy as he was the other week." I let out a huff. "I know."
"Does he know he likes you or is he sort of oblivious?" She laughs. "I'm not sure. I think he's oblivious to his surroundings honestly, he wouldn't know you liked him unless you yelled it at him."
"Poor kid. Go help him, see if you can get him to figure it out faster cause it's annoying." Jumping off the couch Darla swaps places.
I start to make my way around, being knocked to the ground by none other than Landon Cruz.
My back was burning. There was not a single part of me that was enjoying this. "I haven't seen you in a while."
"Can you get up." He laughs. "Yeah." Pushing him away I take a step back. "Why are you here?" He looks around. "Party. Landon. They go hand in hand."
"Right." Grabbing Louis' arm I drag him beside me. "Who's this?" Landon was sort of, mean. Jealous? He was a dick. "This is Louis."
Even after years of me telling him I didn't like guys, he didn't seem to care.
He's pushy it was gross.
"Louis Tomlinson, right you're the one that tried to take his grandma's business." Louis steps forward so I pull him back. "Who the fuck are you?"
"I'm Landon Cruz. Me and Harry go way back. Haven't seen each other in a while though." He nudges my arm. "Maybe you should go way back to your house and keep it that way."
"Somebody's jealous." Louis snickers. "The call is coming from inside the house."
