"Oh My God!"
Seo Hwa exclaimed, startling Eun-oh as he was hanging laundry on the line.
"Why are you doing that all of a sudden?"
"Why? Because it's surprising, that's why. It's like saying 'I knew it' when something happens exactly as you expected."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Well, you know. It's about our young master."
"Oh, about the young master..."
In fact, just moments ago, the subject of their conversation had been none other than Chae Yoon-sa. It was Seo Hwa who had taken the initiative to broach the subject.
'So, you ran into Young Master in the yard earlier. What did he say to you? Was he angry? Threatening to kill you again?'
Already with a complicated mind from the earlier meeting, Eun-oh casually recounted his interaction with Young Master. As the conversation ended, Seo Hwa's reaction echoed the exclamation she had made before.
"Yep, even to your ears, it sounds like that, right? It seems like Young Master was right in telling me to make more effort not to be noticeable."
"Oh, goodness. What a nonsense."
Seo Hwa sighed and gave Eun-oh a straightforward reprimand.
"How could that sound so convincing? That's quite a talent you have there."
"No way?"
"Yes way! It's not like he was telling you to hide forever. You're the one who made it sound so dramatic."
Confused, Eun-oh scratched his head.
"So, what should I do now?"
"What should you do? Go and apologize to Young Master. That should settle it."
Seo Hwa's thoughts were clear. Regardless of whether Eun-oh's actions were intentional or not, yesterday's mistake clearly exceeded Chae Yoon-sa's tolerance.
The chaos caused by the mention of his mother's belongings was similar to a burden on Chae Yoon-sa's shoulders. To explain, one would have to delve into the tragedy that occurred long ago at Chae Ga-won.
After the tragedy, a majority of the servants were forcibly relocated, leaving only a handful, including Mrs. Ok, Ae, and Mr. Cho, who directly witnessed and experienced the events.
Seo Hwa, having heard rumors, vaguely knew what had happened. However, due to the sensitive nature of the matter, she couldn't provide detailed explanations to Eun-oh.
Regardless, even if Eun-oh had no intention of stealing, meddling with that hairpin was strange. Nevertheless, he emerged alive.
Chae Yoon-sa didn't harm Eun-oh. That alone spoke volumes. Today, he approached Eun-oh first, engaging in conversation. He neither brandished a sword nor exiled him. Starting a conversation like that had to signify that the resentment from yesterday had dissipated.
Putting together the puzzles Eun-oh had said, it seems like Chae Yoon-sa is willing to forgive as long as Eun-oh stops needlessly hiding and crawl forward on his own.
"If I plead, won't he get angrier?"
"He didn't seem angry earlier."
"Yes, that's true."
Eun-oh has now grasped that Chae Yoon-sa's tone of voice was cold in nature, so he was able to tell whether he was angry or not.
"Just trust your noona. Go today and apologize for what you did. It might completely ease Young Master's mind, you know?"
