Jeon Su Gyeom raised his voice and called someone. Eun-oh was uneasy and struggled.
The circumstances didn't allow for his refusal.
Driven by a sense of imminent danger, Eun-oh, with flailing arms, grabbed Jeon Su Gyeom's hands as if collapsing onto the table.
"Sir, no! I can't go back! If I go back, I'll die. I'll die!"
"How dare you, with your guilty hands, touch this precious body. Don't deny it."
Jeon Su Gyeom sternly rebuked, but at this point, jokes had already crept into his words. However, Eun-oh, oblivious to this, hurriedly explained.
"Then I'll let go, so please don't send me back!"
"I don't want to? If you committed a crime, you should face the consequences. Isn't that right?"
"Well, that's true. But I didn't commit the crime on purpose."
"Oh Ho! the thief's tongue is quite sharp. Why did you steal someone else's property?"
It wasn't about theft. What truly concerned Eun-oh was the secret known by Kang-hee.
If he went back, as Kang-hee promised, he would expose him, and suspicion would begin. Denying it might keep him alive for now, but what about afterward? It was uncertain, especially since he had already broken the promise by running away.
This time, there would be no forgiveness.
"Still, there might be other ways to repay sins without resorting to me dying, Sir."
"Other ways? Specify. If it makes sense, I'll follow your lead."
"Well, I... I'll think about it from now on."
"While you're thinking, Yoon-sa is probably coming after you. It's better to just say I'm sorry and go back. That's the safer option."
"Going back might mean getting burned in that fire. Young Master said if i run away, he will burn me!"
"You knew that and still ran away. You dug your own grave, so go back quietly."
Despite saying this, Jeon Su Gyeom didn't actually think Chae Yoon-sa would kill Eun-oh. Maybe a few blows, but not killing. He figured that the arrogant guy wouldn't easily let someone he captured go, especially after giving a warning not to run away - a sign of reluctance to lose him.
Even knowing this, Jeon Su Gyeom didn't mention it, finding amusement in Eun-Oh acting like he's on his deathbed.
So, he's currently teased Eun-Oh.
Eunoh, unaware of Jeon Su Gyeom inner intentions, pleaded earnestly with raised eyebrows.
"Sir, I'm not saying I won't go back at all. Just give me a bit more time... when the Young master's anger has subsided a bit, and if I'm feeling better, I'll go back and apologize. Okay?"
Looking up with teary eyes, his desperate plea painted a pitiful picture. At this moment, Jeon Su Gyeom seemed to understand why Chae Yoon-sa had taken a liking to this guy.
He almost felt like handing him over himself.
In truth, while Chae Yoon-sa's approach was vastly different, Jeon Su Gyeom was no stranger to not letting someone close. Since losing his first love at the age of twenty, he consciously avoided falling for one person.
His affection was like the wind, free to go anywhere but never settling with one. So, he engaged in fleeting sex without forming attachments.
However, now he found himself drawn into a real, lasting affection for the first time in a long while. Watching the guy who resembled a lost, rain-soaked puppy, he couldn't help but entertain the thought of picking him up. He was well aware of falling deeper for this guy. The challenge lay in deciding whether to let it deepen or to maintain a safe distance.
