The air constricted, making it impossible to breathe. The agony of being unable to inhale was more tormenting than the intense pressure on bones and muscles.
Chae Yoon-sa stared at Eun-oh's pained face coldly, then abruptly pulled away.
Cough, cough!
Eun-oh, finally freed, sank down, clutching his throat, unleashing a fit of coughing.
After watching Eun-oh for a while, Chae Yoon-sa turned away. There were no further threats or coercion.
As if abruptly losing interest, he ceased his attention towards Eun-oh.
Eun-oh gazed in bewilderment as Chae Yoon-sa distanced himself, sensing blatant ignoring.
It was ten times harsher than his morning's indifference at the brothel, more callous than any sword or dagger.
"Please wait, just a moment..."
Without knowing what to do wanted, Eun-oh grabbed him recklessly. However, his call was too timid, perhaps unheard.
He didn't turn back, nor did he stop walking.
Anxious, Eun-oh clenched his fist and shouted
"Young master! Please, just a moment!"
Unless he blocked his ears, it was an unavoidable voice. Finally, Chae Yoon-sa glanced back at Eun-oh. His expression wasn't clear due to the dim lantern light and the distance. Still, Eun-oh could clearly sense that he was finally paying him attention.
Now that attention was regained, it was time to explain the reason for calling. However, there were no prepared words. After all, grabbing him was an impulsive act, devoid of a well-thought-out plan.
"Um, well, I don't have anything to say... Not that there's nothing, but..."
The embarrassed words lacked order and coherence, merely a jumble of incomprehensible ramblings.
This fool.
Eun-oh blamed himself and roughly shook his head. Calling the young master and then babbling nonsense felt utterly foolish.
First, calm down. Eun-oh, feeling the need for composure, closed his eyes and took a deep breath. As a result, his rapidly beating heart gradually steadied. The scattered thoughts in his mind seemed to organize to some extent.
Calmly and slowly, Eun-oh conveyed his intention, saying,
"Hm, it's strange. Why you've been silent about me... running away."
The words, reluctantly uttered, were fortunately not ignored.
"If I don't stay silent."
Chae Yoon-sa retorted, questioning
what Eun-oh expected him to do by not remaining silent."Are you... angry with me?"
"Wouldn't I be?"
"Right? You are? You are angry, right?"
If he knew Chae Yoon-sa was angry, it would be fitting to feel crushed. Yet, at the moment, Eun-oh felt strangely relieved.
Eun-oh even managed a small smile.
"..."
Chae Yoon-sa's silence was a silent rebuke. Reading this, Eun-oh hastily pulled down the corners of his mouth with his hand.
"No, but even if I think about it, it seems natural for you to be angry... but you didn't do anything..."
"Forget about the near strangulation just now?"
