Chapter Eight

At New York Airlines....

News choppers, news vans and reporters all over filled the airport as they waited for Colonel Jupiter a.k.a. John Jameson to return home from his longer journey in space. J. Jonah Jameson, Eddie and Peter were waiting for John's arrival. "Where is he? Where is my son!?" Asked Jonah impatiently. Peter walked over to Jonah. "He'll be here at any moment." Said Peter as he tried to calm Jonah down. Jonah just walked away from Peter and looked up at the sky. Eddie walked over to Peter. "Did you hear what happened to Kingpin last night?" Peter looked at Eddie. "Hear? I was there." Eddie was confused. "How were you there.?" Eddied asked. Peter smiled. "I kinda followed Spi...Jonah quickly looked at Peter. "I kinda followed the Vigilante." Jonah turned back around. Eddie was shocked to hear that. "You did what?!" Eddie asked as he was still putting together what he heard. "Yeah I followed the Vigilante. I'm surprised I didn't see you there." Eddie couldn't believe it. "I never thought I could." Peter looked at Eddie. "I haven't been at this job long but I know that if you want to get a good story and a good photo then you have to do something that you aren't comfortable with." Jonah looked back at the both of them. "I don't always do this but he's right." Said Jonah as he turned back around. "I'll have to do that next time." Said Eddie as he looked up at the sky.

All the news reporters looked at the sky. "We have got a live broadcast from inside the space shuttle." Said the news reporter as she looked up at the sky. "Is this thing on? Can anyone hear us?" Said John. "We can hear you clearly," said the reporter. "We are going down! I repeat we are going down!" Yelled John in panic. Jonah was speechless. "Black goo has taken over the shuttle! It took out the controls!" Everyone gasped. The shuttle became visible from the ground. "Dad, if you can hear me we aren't going to make it. I can't steer us to safety. I love you. Tell mom I love her too." After that everything went to static. The shuttle got closer to the ground until it crashed into lanes nearby the airport. Everyone rushed over there. As they made it to the crash site Jonah was the first person to run over there. Before he got close the shuttle exploded. "Noo!" Cried Jonah as he fell to his knees. Peter tried to hold Jonah back. Firefighters and paramedics came to the scene right away. The fire was out and paramedics rolled the bodies out of the shuttle. Jonah ran over to the paramedics. "Can I see my son?" The paramedics were hesitant but they uncovered his face and let Jonah see John. "Johnny." Said Jonah as his eyes feeler with tears. Peter and Eddie walked to Jonah. Jonah looked at both of them. "If any of you has taken a photo of this you're both fired!" Jonah said angrily as the paramedics rolled John away. Peter and Eddie didn't say a word. "Go home you two. Take a few days off." Jonah got in his car and left.

Peter got home. Closed the door behind him softly. He saw that Aunt May and Victoria were at home watching the news. He was speechless. Peter felt bad for what had happened today. Victoria and Aunt May walked over to Peter. Feeling bad for Jonah. Not knowing what to do or how Peter felt after witnessing what happened at the airline. They just gave Peter a hug.
