From Knives to Pens - Chapter 24

Chapter 24 Andy’s POV:

We get into the van and Willow sits next to me. I keep her hand in mine and I pull her closer. She rests against me and she puts her head on my shoulder. I love having her close to me.

Ashley looks over at us from the front of the van and he smirks. “CC you owe me $50.” He laughs jabbing CC in the ribs. CC’s head snaps around to look at us from his spot next to Ashley. He looks from me to Willow and his face falls.

“Aw man, why does this always happen to me?” CC says turning back to face the front and covering his face with his hands.

“What’s this?” I ask, confused as how this involves me and Willow. Ashley just laughs and CC moans in despair.

Fortunately Jake answers. “Ash and CC were betting or whether or not when you returned home you and Willow would be going out. CC thought that things wouldn’t move that fast while Ash went for the option that you two would be together, hence Ash wins the bet.” He says laughing.

“How do you know were going out for sure?” I ask, laughing myself. Trust Ash and CC to bet on mine and Willow’s relationship status.

“It’s really obvious. As soon as I saw you I knew something changed.” Jinxx says laughing. He shoves my shoulder jokingly from his seat behind me.

“It’s awesome though that you’re together.” Jake says smiling at me through the rear view mirror. I smile back, glad of his support. I rest my head on top of Willow’s, wanting to be as close to her as I can get.

“I can’t believe you were betting on mine and Andy’s relationship behind our backs.” Willow laughs.

“What else were we supposed to do? It was a big thing on all of our minds, seeing as Andy only just broke up with Juliet.” Jake says laughing back. I know his words are meant as a joke and he didn’t mean anything by them, but I can’t help but think maybe he feels I’ve moved on too fast.

I shake the thought away, not wanting to ruin the moment with stupid thoughts like that. Thankfully Jinxx changes the topic.

“So Zack, what kind of music do you listen to?” Jinxx says leaning forward so his head rests between Zack and Willow’s seats. I notice Zack moves away slightly at Jinxx’s proximity. Jinxx must look quite intimidating to someone who isn’t used to the look. We don’t notice it because we’re around him everyday and dress the same ourselves.

“Umm… I’m actually discovering some new stuff at the moment.” Zack replies, shyly. I smile remembering earlier on the plane when Willow saw him listening to Black Veil Brides.

“What kind of stuff?” Jinxx says, his voice sounding genuinely interested. I turn my head so I can look at Willow’s brother. He doesn’t look at me or any other of the band members, but instead at his sister. I feel her nod slightly and in the next minute Zack answers.

“The other day I started listening to you guys.” Zack says meeting Jinxx’s eyes for the first time. I see him smile and I feel my own face breaking into one.

“Really?! That’s great!” Jinxx says, putting his hand out for a high five from Zack. Their hands meet and I see them both smiling at each other brightly.

“What songs have you listened to so far?” Jake asks.

“Fallen Angels, Knives and Pens, We Stitch These Wounds and a couple off of the Set The World On Fire album. I love Rebel Love Song.” Zack says with a grin. It’s easy to see that he’s relaxing in our company and I’m glad. It must be hard, being with a group of strangers in a foreign country.
