AVELIN

Walking out of the room, my steps are fast enough to go outside and eat something for my poor stomach which can't stop growling in hunger. As I moved along the corridor, I kept in mind everything which is coming on my way just in case I forget the way while coming back. Linda was not wrong when she said that I am a forgetful ass. Yes I am. A big one.

Walking out of the main entrance, I am finally here in the food court area of the resort. No jokes, but this resort actually has some amazing food. I walked forward to one of the Sandwich Shop, the one about which Shyla told me. She ate sandwiches from here last time.

"Hey Avelin!" A very familiar voice called me from behind as I turn around to find Ryan standing there.

"What's up Ryan?" I smiled and asked him.

"Nothing much! Just enjoying the sunny weather with my friend." He said with a widened smile.

"Oh Evan is here too?" I asked searching for his dearest friend Evan Kavinsky. That man is an absolute taciturn. The day when we all went to the Uluwatu Temple, he only spoke 3 to 5 sentences throughout the whole day.
I like when people shut up and don't talk nonsense but he looked like a complete jerk while doing that.

"Evan Kavinsky is a friend who would never come outside and enjoy the weather with me. You got it wrong Avelin. I am with my other friend- let me introduce you to him." He said while turning around to not find anyone behind him.

"Where the hell this man go?" He said while his eyes scan the whole place around.

"Sorry man! Got a call." A deep voice came from behind me which was enough to give me chills. As I turned around, a huge man wearing a fully neat and clean suit set was walking towards us. His hands were in the pocket as the fabric of his suit was not able to hide his bulked muscular biceps. But the only thing which made me anxious was his face which looked strangely familiar. Like I have seen him before.

"Here Avelin. This is my friend-" Ryan's words were cut off when the other man interrupted.

"Hey! I'm Marcus Wilson and Ryan's friend." His deep voice again gave me chills throughout my body as he extended his hand towards me for a handshake.

"I'm Avelin Morgan. Nice to meet you!" I said as I gladly accepted his handshake.

He gave a little smile as I returned it to him.
But soon the smile on my lips turned into a frown when my mind finally clicked and I remembered his face.

Marcus Wilson- he is a fucking crime detective. Being a fan of dark crime documentaries, how can I fail to remember this person? The sources say that they were never able to reach him and take an interview of him because he strictly prohibited it. He is a person who never socializes his life and crime cases. He doesn't have an official social media handle. But the only thing I know is this person is hell dangerous. He has dealt with a hell of frightening cases and some how made it out alive. What is this man doing here? There's no way he is a kind of person who would come here for a vacation. And how the hell Ryan is friends with him? Many questions sorrounded my mind as somewhere inside me I was a little hesitant to think if me, Shyla and Linda did the correct thing by being friends with Ryan and Evan. They are friends with a fucking dangerous crime detective.

"Are you fine Avelin?" I flinched when I heard Ryan's voice.

"Uh- yes ofcourse!" I said and tried to remain as cool as possible.

"Cool! So I talked to Linda the other day. What do you think about having the dinner today in one of the best restaurants in Bali?"
He asked.

There's no way I am saying yes for having dinner with a crime detective and his friends. But if I say no instantly then he might doubt the sudden change in my behaviour.
