AVELIN

"Stop here."

The words left my mouth as I looked at the awfully empty street surrounded by the high-priced mansions all around making the area look like a place which came straight out of a James Cameron movie set. The taxi stopped as I got out while looking around making sure to memorise each and every detail about my surrounding. My hands moved towards my purse as I took out the cash and paid the taxi driver.

The area was familiar. Familiar in a way that was enough to send shiver down my spine. The day I had my first real experience of getting kidnapped. The day I felt the fear, the horror, which I only felt in the crime documentaries which are left finsihed in my laptop. The first time I realised that, sitting at home and casually throwing comments on the characters was way far easier than actually facing the fear which that character went through.

With each determined steps, I reached the destination, I have been waiting to reach since the last thirty minutes of my travel here. I stood outside the huge gate which prevented me from getting a better view of the mansion inside. In the black plate attached to the wall, the words were shining having a diamond glow .

"WILSON ENCLAVE"

A pang of anger rushed through me as my eyes fell on the name. Betrayer felt too short for explaining that person. The rumours that fled through the city about him felt true for the first time. He was a man with no heart. And I wanted nothing but to just step on his ego and crush it into pieces until there's nothing left to amend it again. The guards outside gave me a skeptical look as they stared at me intently .

"I want to meet Marcus Wilson."
The words came out firmly from my mouth and I intended to stick to those until the betrayer doesn't shows up.

"Sorry Ms. But Mr. Wilson doesn't meet his clients like this. You have to show the appointment slip."

He replied as I clenched my jaw feeling the urge to push everything out of my way until I reach inside and see the betrayer's face. But I knew better than that. It will not take a minute for all those guards who are guarding inside to pick me up with their pinky and throw me out like soccer ball. The clear image of the inside filled with numerous guards came into my mind, hitting me like a thunder when I remembered my first day here in this mansion. The worst thing I wanted was to get stuck in this mansion without moving my arms.

"I don't have an appointment slip. And I am not a client. I am a... friend."

Even though I hated to say that word, it slipped out of my mouth keeping in my mind the seriousness of the situation and the need for me to meet that man. I wanted nothing more than to just drown myself into an ocean of shame as I re-spoke the words in my mind.

"Friend."

It sounded way bad in my mind when I gave it a second thought.

Marcus Wilson was way far from being my "Friend". And way...way far for being a person that will occupy any part of my mind in the future after I confront him.

The guards gave me stern look seeming to get irritated at my response.

"We have already told you, Ms."

"Mr. Wilson denies to meet any friend at this hour. Besides we have a list of all his friends and family members. And you don't seem to add up to that list."

Unwantedly a scoff left my mouth. Who even wanted to be his friend or family? I would rather die.

"Listen. I think you should call him and inform him that Avelin Morgan is here to meet him. And if he still denies, then tell him that I will freaking burn his lavish mansion into ashes if doesn't meet me now."
