Academic Rivals: Kaeya x Albedo

I hear the beeping off my alarm and I sit up realising I fell asleep at my desk again before muttering to myself "forth time this week " I clear up the books and notes into my backpack before walking into my bathroom.
I splash some water on my face to help wake me up, I look at myself in the mirror realising how dark under my eyes are"I really need to get more sleep" I mutter as I continue to wash my face. I dry off my face off before searching through my wardrobe settling on a pair of loose fitting jeans a black turtleneck with a white button up shirt button upped all the way with a beige sweater vest.

I walk downstairs and start prepping breakfast for me and Klee. I made some toast for myself and some cereal for Klee. I place Klee's breakfast on the table before calling out "Breakfast " I start to make a packed lunch for her and I put it into her red lunch bag before placing it down next to her school bag.
"Did you sleep well "

"Yup" Klee says muffled by the chewing of her cereal " I dreamed about making the river go booooom"

"Really sounds interesting but what should you not do"

Klee places her spoon down before placing her hand on her head in a salute " never actually make things go boom boom " she says with a giddy smile on her face

"Yep" I take a bite from my toast " do you have all your homework in your bag "

Klee walks over to her school bag and starts to put it on " yep all in here and dodoco was protecting it" she shakes the bag around causing her keychain to swing around.

I put my satchel on finishing my toast as I walk towards the door. I unlock the front door and hold it open for Klee as she skips out the door " you seem excited for school today any particular reason" Klee stops and spins around on her heels

"I'm excited but not for a reason except that I get to see my friends" she turns back around before going back to skipping down the path towards her school.
We eventually make it to the school I wave bye as she runs inside the school gates to her friends.

I start heading off to school stopping off at the coffe shop round the corner picking up a vanilla latte. I liked the sweetness I did drink black coffee but that was only when I was studying and needed it to keep me awake I was naturally smart but that was only in maths and science subjects in English and history I need to put more effort in. I did study for all my subjects unlike a popular blue haired boy I know.

Kaeya Alberich my academic rival well just rival since middle school, we would compete on who got the higher test results he never did study though and would be cocky about it. Our rivalry highered the average test scores for our class because we both wanted to be the best. Lately though we both focus on our strong suits he is great in English and history that is why I am trying so hard to be better at those subjects just to beat that smug asshole.

I walk in the school gates and head up to the main notice board and stick up the new meeting schedule for the alchemy club I was told I had to change it because the fencing club was on at the same  time and it was something about they can't have that many students on the school grounds after hours. So I had to move the club to an earlier time.
On my way to class I stop off at my locker when I hear the thud off someone against metal. I close my locker and see Kaeya leaning against the locker next to mine

"what do you want " I place my books in my bag .

"Can I not see you blondie I haven't seen you for the past 2 weeks did you have a happy holidays " he says with a smirk on his face

"Well it was fine I had to take care of Klee so not really a break for me " I close over my locker and lock it and start to walk towards class

"Oh how sad... I wonder if we will get those test results we did before the break " he places his arms on his head and starts to follow me for class .

"What happened to your friends why don't you go make a muck with them " I enter the class and sit at my seat. I pull out my sketchbook and pencils and was about to place it on my desk when Kaeya sits down on it and looks down at me with a smirk

"What's that blondie doesn't look like a notebook " he reaches his hand forward not taking the sketchbook but he just hovers his hand over seemingly waiting for permission to look.

"I have a name idiot and it's my sketchbook " I place the pencils on the table and leave the the sketchbook on my lap

"Well can I see it then " he says with a smile pulling his hand back away from me

"I would rather not " I hear the bell ring and people start to enter the class Kaeya finally gets off my desk and moves over to his seat. The teacher walks in with stack off papers.

"Good morning class I hope you had great holidays but now we are tight back into work.
You will be starting on a project later it will be in pairs no exceptions but first your test rest"

She starts to walk around the room handing out the History tests I receive mine and I got 96% not bad but I could have done so much better. I start to flick through the test to see where I needed to improve upon but then I here the teacher say "congratulations Mr Alberich the highest in the class"

I look over at Kaeya and see the smug grin on his face, he then turns his head to me lifting up his test results showing the 98% written in red ink. Kaeya sticks out his tongue at me and I just look away and start to sketch some hands in sketchbook as I think about who I will ask to be my partner I don't like partner work I hate it I hope they are assigned it makes it easier.

"Okay I will be assigning the partners but this time it will be slightly different. I know when it is randomly assigned the work isn't always fairly distributed so I will be pairing people based on your test results " she picks up a sheet of paper off her desk and starts reading them out eventually she gets to my name
"Albedo you are with~... Kaeya "
She continues on calling out the pairs but I just shut that out and all I can think is of course I'm with that asshole until I'm brought back to reality by a hand waving in front of my face.

I look up and see Kaeya sitting at the desk in front of me he was sitting on the chair backwards and was leaning on my desk before he breaks the silence" earth to blondie where you even paying attention to what we have to do for the project " he looks down at my sketchbook before looking back up with a puzzled looks

"Hands ?... Really, why just hands "

"I'm practicing anatomy hands are hard to draw and I need to get better these are all just rough sketches" I feel the need to call them bad it wasn't wrong they where bad I did really need to practice but I felt that if I said I was proud of them which I wasn't but I felt kaeya would judge them

"Those are rough oh barbatos I need to see your nice sketches if those are bad they look so realistic" he says it in his typical teasing tone but slightly more genuine

"Well anyway we need to choose a historic event and to do a presentation on it " he takes out a notepad " I know we bought don't really wanna work together and it makes our little competition kinda void since we can't get a different result if we are working together so shall we agree to let out rivalry be null and void till this is over "

"I can agree to that seems like a civil thing " I but my sketchbook away before we start to discuss our project
