It's a random thing but if you counted the days Peacemaker hadn't gone to sleep then you would've counted three days with an additional day when they're going back to Jade Mountain. So in total, four days.
Granted he did sleep some hours before being awake by Darkstalker on the first day he returned but if we still keep the 96 hours of lack of sleep, you get some interesting results when doing a little research.
Admittedly, I'm no expert and I'm taking this from a site I found on Google about the stages of sleep deprivation.
After 24 hours: Acting similar to having a blood alcohol level of 0.10 with symptoms like brain fog, drowsiness, irritability, etc.
After 36 hours: Impaired memory, difficulty understanding new information, extreme fatigue, etc.
After 48 hours: Hallucinations start to appear.
After 72 hours: Disordered thinking, complex hallucinations, etc.
After 96 hours: Difficulty interpreting reality and the urge to sleep is unbearable.
So...long story short, Peacemaker is getting to the level where reality becomes difficult to interpret, and out of all the times, he will be trying to hunt down the Secret Assasin this way. He's dead.
I thought about it and thought this was funny. If anything, this was more or less a note for me for some extra things I can add to the next chapter. Do what you want with the information, long story short...
He's going to die because he accidentally thought Peril was wearing a mask and a hood.
