A blast from the past:

Peacemaker walks past a group of Icewing students.

Frost(3rd year): The teachers know what happened to him, they got to know something. You're telling me they never questioned the Graduating Years what happened? Those graduates are keeping things hidden!

Thundersnow(2nd year): Well no one is necessarily sure what happened to Darkstalker-

Frost: HEY! Don't. Say. His. Name.

Thundersnow: W-What? You were talking about him? 

Frost: He's gone and should stay gone for what he's done.

Thundersnow: Speaking of being gone, are you still curious about what happened?

Frost: Of course I am. Think about it, after trying to wipe out all the Icewings he just... disappears with no clarification. I highly doubt he gave up or even bothered to leave, he would never give up or leave the tribe alone. It's part of the reason why I even wanted to come here in the first place.

Thundersnow: Let me get this straight...you're a third year and the only reason you even wanted to start attending was to find out what happened to D-him from the Dragonets of Destiny or any of the Graduating Years?

Frost: Yep.

Thundersnow: That's a lot of determination, I mean I had to write like five letters and do several skill showcasing to Queen Snowfall to come here. Besides, the only reason why she selected me was that she could get rid of my "annoying tail". Unbelievable. 

Peacemaker *watching from a distance*: (That's nice, I had to commit a murder and get away with it to start attending).

Frost: I originally wasn't selected to be a student but I poisoned one of the selected subjects so Queen Snowfall just passed it on to me. 

Thundersnow: Are they dead...?

Frost *alarmed*: N-No! That's a crime I'd rather not commit and what idiot would confess casually in a conversation?

Thundersnow: You are talking about someone who attempted genocide...so, maybe?

Frost: Shut it.

Thundersnow notices Peacemaker and waves to him.

Thundersnow: Yo Peacemaker! Come here we got a question to ask!

Peacemaker: What's up?

Frost: Thunder, who is this...hybrid?

Thundersnow: This is Peacemaker, he's a first-year and in the same winglet as Princess Mink.

Frost: You're in the same winglet as the PRINCESS?!

Peacemaker: Yes?

Thundersnow: Not the point but anyways, Peacemaker has or at least had a decent friendship and closeness to the Graduating Jade Winglet and even knew the teachers right after the whole...incident.

Frost: How do you know this?

Thundersnow: When the princess hangs out with her subjects, she likes bringing her friends sometimes, Peacemaker often is invited. He's a calm and smart dragon, he doesn't mean any harm. We like sharing coffee too.

Darkstalker *grinning*: But his best friend means a lot of harm.

Peacemaker: (Now's not the time, Darks).

Frost: Well then...Peacemaker, do you know anything about what happened to him?

Peacemaker: (I'll play around a little). He's buried under the rainforest with plants and tree roots digging and crawling in his face and between his scales.

Frost, Thunder, and Darkstalker look at Peacemaker in silence.

Frost: I'm hoping you're joking.

Darkstalker: Gee, imagining my corpse like that makes me uncomfortable, thanks a lot Peace.

Peacemaker *chuckling*: Yeah, I'm just kidding, you guys think they tell me anything?

Thundersnow: You never once asked?

Peacemaker: I asked Moon once...she gave me a horrified stare.

Frost: Of course, they don't even tell close friends. I'm starting to reconsider if the Dragonets of Destiny aren't just a bunch of frauds using the "hero" title as a way for their ideologies to spread much more easily.

Peacemaker: I'd expect that from Starflight not any of the others though. Sounds complicated.

Frost: Sorry for wasting your time, see you around Peacemaker. Treat Mink with the respect she deserves. 

Darkstalker: It's opposite day, treat her as poorly as you can.

Peacemaker: (I thought you regretted your actions)?

Darkstalker: Trust me I do, I'm just playing around. Life gets boring now.

Peacemaker: Don't worry, I'll make sure none of my friends are hurt ever again. However, if I had to give some advice for finding things out, I think you might just be looking too closely to see the full image. The answer could be easily stared at throughout the school day.

Frost: You mean the teachers? I stared at Starflight he didn't even react.

Thundersnow: Buddy he's blind?!

Frost: Of course, I know that! At this point, I'd take the explanation that Darkstalker is currently just a ghost and is laughing at our argument right now.

Peacemaker *side-eyeing Darkstalker*: Sounds interesting.

Thundersnow: Ignore my friend, he's just trying to make sense of it all which tends to get weird bizarre ideas. See you soon Peacemaker.

Peacemaker: It's fine, I'm used to my own life being bizarre as well.

I guess something interesting is that like in Book 6, Darks likes to cosplay and playfully act like the scary dragon from the Nightwing Legends. When Peace is alone, he likes to pretend with Darks about a horrific scenario where The Darkstalker is hunting a young poor dragonet.
