As you read PAIS, you most undoubtedly noticed that in the story, the Graduating Jade Winglet consists of Moon, Kinkajou, Qibli, and Turtle(as well as Peril and Winter but they're not as involved, as Turtle but he's little more) are not shown positively in PAIS. Despite Arc Two and them being supposed to be the heroes and good characters we should be rooting for, in PAIS, I write them almost like the opposite, where the protagonist, Peacemaker, doesn't view them positively and neither is the narration.
Why did I write them like this?
I've mentioned before how the Arc Two ending rubbed me the wrong way and so did with a decent chunk of other readers, of course, with separate reasons why. As you may already know, I said I didn't like the cause for the defeat of Darkstalker, which was Kinkajou and her strawberry method, but that is more on why I dislike Kinkajou/like her the least. But also, in other chapters, I mentioned the implications and the near-inevitable struggles that will occur for Peacemaker, a young, innocent dragonet(I'm still sticking with him being considered separate from Darkstalker).
That's where PAIS comes in as I try to dive a little more into the implications such as keeping the secret under wraps. But also, inconsiderations that the Jade Winglet made being young at the time(Kinkajou especially) such as Peacemaker's behavior, his intelligence, as well as their future feelings of this decision.
Oh, and also Winter since they never told him.
Seeing this, in PAIS, that's exactly what begins to bite them back Qibli, Moon, and Kinkajou are trying to handle things but they're mindsets differ on what to do and what they've done as now there is a growing distance from Peacemaker's trust with them as well as a lack of options they have besides either admitting which can go wrong in ways I will not list or keep fighting potentially breaking apart more things other than Peacemaker.
At the end of the day, I'll describe my writing of them like this, their actions are at least a little understandable in their perspectives and how they view Peacemaker and the defeating of Darkstalker, but we're not viewing it in their perspectives, we are reading it from Peacemaker's perspective, the more or less, victim of their actions. He's the one that got screwed over and his trust began to dwindle and then crumble as the Graduating Jade Winglet persists in keeping it even if both sides know some of the things the winglet had been saying are just blatantly to cover something up. After all, if you're a good person for all but one individual, in that one person's perspective, you're not as great.
I didn't want to write them as just plainly helicoptering or just liars, remember, Peacemaker did struggle to hate them and he did try to hold onto the trust they once had because Peacemaker viewed them positively, they were like his role models, close friends he could rely on, and almost like older siblings for him.
That's partially why I included that part where Peacemaker watches over a conversation between Moon, Glory, and Kinkajou. I wanted to write it where the flaws in the relationship they have with Peacemaker and his existence are still there more than clearly, but there is a little more humanization (going away from dragon terms)...or at least I attempted it.
