Character Facts #6

Cliff:

1. Although not the only Prince like Prince Hawk and Prince Vermillion, due to being Queen Ruby's direct and only dragonet, Cliff technically holds more power in the hierarchy than the other princes.

2. Cliff had met Auklet a few times before attending Jade Mountain when Queen Coral visited to do business with Queen Ruby. He had never met Mink before as Queen Snowfall typically didn't ever go to the Sky Arena nor brought Mink along.

3. Cliff at first thought Auklet was hard to talk to as Auklet acted and reacted much more differently than Cliff was expecting. Auklet was very closed in and didn't communicate much. He also found her a bit off when talking with Queen Coral.

4. Like Cliff stated in one of the chapters, Cliff is quite clever and is capable of easily piecing things together.

5. (Connected to Fact 4) It was because of this that Cliff figured out how Queen Coral treats Auklet by the second to third visit, it clicked that Queen Coral was tying Auklet up into a leash and giving no sense of freedom at all whatsoever.

6. Cliff is not a fan of Queen Coral.

7. Similar to Bumblebee, Cliff finds quite the thrill of fighting or rather watching fights. It isn't to the extent as Bumblebee.

8. Speaking of thrill, Cliff finds himself using the word "Thrilling" quite a lot. Queen Ruby thinks it's just Queen Scarlet and her love of that word that passed on to him. He avoids using it when other Skywings or the Dragonets of Destiny are around as it makes a few of them jump being reminded of Queen Scarlet. 

9. Cliff sometimes fears that he'll end up as twisted as his grandmother was. It can make him overly conscious of anything he says or does trying to avoid being anything like Scarlet. 

10. He considers Peacemaker to be his best friend which is true however Cliff sometimes has an odd feeling with Peacemaker. Cliff struggles to read Peacemaker on anything and coming from a family member that's known to deceive and cheat(Scarlet), Cliff both feels calm and pleasured being near him yet also aware and unsure. When he thinks about it, Cliff isn't sure if anything Peacemaker does is genuine or just a lie. 

11. Cliff has small burns on his scales after he accidentally touched Peril once or twice when he was younger. He still cares a lot about Peril and considers her an aunt but Cliff makes sure he doesn't get too close. Peril understands this.

12. Cliff tries to cheer Auklet up and attempts to get her to have more fun and try new things. Auklet sometimes declines this and other times doesn't, it depends on Cliff's convincing skills.

13. Cliff has a very close relationship with Queen Ruby and he hardly thinks she'll ever hurt him.

14. Cliff keeps up with his singing interest although he struggles with thinking that other dragons compliment it because he's a prince. He also likes to hum tunes to either help himself or his friends sleep shown in the Promises chapter.

15. Cliff doesn't have that much stage fright as most of his life already put him in the spotlight. 

16. In Romantic Relationships, Cliff would be a lot like Smolder. A Prince with several girlfriends in the past. The thing is for Cliff, he knows that Queen Ruby considers his feelings but Cliff wants to consider the Skywing tribe first hence Cliff might be more hesitant to commit to any sort of romantic relationship with an outside tribe(say Seawings).

In other words, if his tribe might be negatively impacted by his choice of Auklet, Cliff might choose not to commit to it as mixing a royal family with a different tribe let alone another different royal family could be ugly.

When I was writing Cliff, I liked the idea I saw with other future Cliffs where he tends to be the energetic and positive dragon. I believe that Cliff would be a character similar to but quite different from Peril in what their conflict is. Cliff has a good home, a kind and caring mother, and he has a talent for singing yet that's also where conflicts tend to strike.

He has a good home but as a royal in the Sky Kingdom, he has to consider his tribe a lot and keep it functional when he has the chance.

He cares a lot for Ruby but it also means that Cliff could get into situations between doing things that would make him happy or taking a different less favorable action(for him) to help his mother.

He has a talent for singing but it also makes him self-conscious whether other dragons truly like it or not.

I wanted Cliff to not have the fear of being annoying. Yes, he can feel down when he thinks that he's just a nuisance for others but I also wanted to focus more on the reputation of Skywings(being relatively rude dragons) and how Queen Scarlet still impacts Cliff to this day long after her death.

PAIS is an aftermath, my idea of the result of everything that had happened from Books 1-15 still with effects from events as far as Book 1 such as the Dragonets of Destiny jumping when they hear the word "Thrilling", Queen Scarlet's favorite word(or at least it's implied as Tui just enjoyed using Thrilling when Queen Scarlet talks).

Well anyhow, welcome back. This is now called Character Facts as I figured it'd be more suitable. For now, I can officially say that writing is probably back in session with this being a little warm-up.

But in case you guys are wondering what's coming here is the quick gist. 

1) Finish up the next 1-2 chapters(depending on the length of the chapters or if I have to split it).

2) Go back to each chapter and rewrite/revise/edit. I want to review the information and add more details.

3)Continue PAIS.

Of course, I'll still be occasionally updating SaD throughout the next coming updates. Now with all of this in mind, catch you up on the flip side.
