Sonny's P.o.V

I finished my morning routine and went back in my room to get dressed, I changed into a pair of briefs, a White T shirt with Plaid on the shoulders, a pair of Blue jeans, my White Jordan Maxes and sprayed on my cologne. I put on my Rolex and grabbed my necklace before jogging downstairs, I grabbed my lanyard off of the wall and headed over to the library, I walked inside and went towards the back.

I checked in with my ID and sighed as I sat down at one of the tables and got on my phone while I waited, I laid my phone facedown on the table and exhaled as I sat back in the chair, I looked at my watch and shook my head as I checked my phone one more time.

Impatient, yes I know, but I had many other things to do rather than tutor Johns daughter, we fucked, and haven't talked since, not my problem.

Kind of crazy though, who would've thought John would've asked ME of all people to tutor his daughter, in the simplest subject at that, English, well English Lit but same thing, the teacher practically gives out the answer, I rarely go to class and still have a 4.0 GPA, including the days I don't come on campus.

Anyway, he asked me if I could do this favor for him a few days ago and I wasn't going to do it, but then I thought, hey, he could do me a favor when it was needed, so here I am sitting in this boring ass library, being watched by the weird ass librarian and a few of the kids who I don't normally see, it was hella awkward and I was dead about to leave until she finally came.

She checked in with her ID and then made her way over to me, I sighed as I sat up and pulled my chair up to the table, she sat down across from me and sat her bag.

"Hey Sonny." She said

"Hello Madeline." I said

"New haircut?" She asked

"Yeah, you got your books?"  I asked

"Yeah." She nodded sliding me one

"Which lesson do you need help most with?" I asked scanning through the table of contents

"15." She said

I nodded and flipped to the page, I read over the lesson outline and then gave her a fucked up look as I closed the book and sat back in the chair

"How do you not know this?" I asked

"I always get it mixed up with Homonyms." She said

"Alright, I'll tell you a simple trick." I said sitting up, "When dealing with a Homonym, think about the fact that most of the words under that category sound similar to one another, but when dealing with a Heteronym has the same sound but are spelled completely wrong." I said, "Like when you say I read that sign, you're not using the same context as when you say, I want to read this book."

"Okay."

"Still don't get it?" I asked

"No."

"Oh boy." I said sighing, "Homonyms have the same sound and hetero have different sounds." I said running my hand over my head, "Imagine two animals, a lion and a tiger, what do they both do?" I asked

"Roar." She said

"Exactly, what do a house cat and a tiger have in common?"

"They're both cats." She said

"Get what Im saying?" I asked, "A lion and tiger both make the same sound." I said, "A house cat and a tiger are the same but sound completely different from one another."

"I get it now." She said

"Simple right?" I asked

"Well yeah, when you put it like that." She nodded
